But they won't ..
Phone has tons of pieces. Not just screen, cpu cameras and memory ram.
Imagine if brand A can save $1,50 per component compared to brand B.
Final cost is gonna be too different.
Everything designed in China, using mostly chinese pieces and assembled in China is always gonna be cheaper compared to products from USA, Germany, Japan and South Korea.

As long as they do a proper Poco F2 Pro successor with flat display, 3.5mm Jack, infrared, and pop up camera, I'm fine.
Of course this is supposing it got the Snapdragon 888 which might also provide Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and that it inherit the Gorilla Glass Victus and not downgrade battery capacity, dual band sat av nor all the supported ones, nor the UFS 3.1 and LPDDR5.
In fact, while I don't care about high refresh rate on smartphones, just change the F2 Pro to have 90Hz or 120Hz display, switch the Depth sensor for a Telephoto and it would have been a massively popular phone, just add an SD card slot + dual sim and it would have been on the podium of 2020 no questions.
I missed out on the F2 Pro but I hope I'll be able to catch the successor.
A Poco F3 Pro or whatever with a good Wide and Ultra-Wide, but more importantly with a Telephoto, or even better à Periscope Telephoto, and either the same 5Mp Tele-Macro, or even better à higher resolution one, a 8Mp (or more) Tele-Macro would be amazing, it would be a dream setup for me (if we stay "standard" and don't go full crazy extreme setup).
As much as people hate low resolution Macro, I would be disappointed if the phone that had the best so far ditched it rather than improving on it.
And I buy it instantly!

EDITED: aaaa now understood - it's a macro with autofocus. Anyway - 5MP still sounds pathetic...

Xiaomi is killing it. They've delivered an absolute great all-round device this time and the best thing is that they charge the same price like its predecessor. I wonder how much does the Snapdragon 888 chipset cost considering how early it's released.

Before I start to care, I try this question, is it with a jack or no? It becomes so easy to choose the phone now.
Also their eco friendly effort is like joke, basically you pay(or lose) for not having a charger. How hard it is to sell it right? Even I can think of better way to sell it than it does apple or xiaomi, just give an option for charger and for the one without give some benefit, like whatever benefit, cheaper price, app coupon,... so stupid.
