Furiounx, 02 Jan 2021I totally agree. I have an IPhone 12 Pro Max and everyone c... moreI agree with what you are saying. People should stop complaining about what they want on one phone without finding everything they need on another phone. There are plenty smartphones with 120Hz screens, so use one of them. If you have a preference for IOS, keep your current phone or upgrade to a new one and keep that until the phone you want comes out.

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2021The Chinese have overtaken the market. Sony is already lik... moreI knoe for a fact that the Chineses are leading today, but that doesn't affect my decision of which one to trust still.
I'm sorry but I'm just not like you that always loves to follow what is trending and what everyone is having.
The mere fact that you're still being concerned about Sony's products by bashing them indicates that they're still having an impact on your pride, and I gotta say that I'm proud to see them still making remarks from people despite not being popular enough for a long time already.

Anyway, I can sense that you're just here to spread some hate on Sony products, so I'm going to end this conversation here now. I sure do hope that you'll start trolling using an identity username instead of hiding in fears with that Anonymous moniker that cowards always do. Have a great day :))

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2021Only 800k units sold? You proud of that?? 1 million less t... moreEvery single unit counts. It doesn't matter if it's just 1 or a million, not everyone has access to diamonds anyway.
And if I say that I'm proud of what they have done despite their situation, why would you care at all? It's not like you're giving them the funds to be disappointed at them. It's called "minding your own business."

And for the love of God, let's all stop comparing things now, can't we? Sony is not aiming to sell the most number of units in the world, and even if they did, not even I, a true Sony fan, will brag about it.
Who cares about the sales? Are you going to brag about it when you buy your phone? You do? Wow that's a really matured habit of you!

Sony is nowhere to be found? Then okay, people who would buy their phones would be at peace as they would no longer be having to fight and argue with other people about how much better their phone is compared to the others, because realtalk; only children do that. Just buy the damn thing that you want and get over it.
To me, it honestly looks like you're so desperate to degrade Sony here by using Xiaomi's high number of sales. Sorry but I ain't interested in arguing and competing with that. If that makes you happy and make your life complete, then do as you please, but I still don't care.

I'm merely just stating how you're wrong about Sony not being able to sell more than 350K units in a quarter by giving you a relevant statistics, and suddenly you're crying out here with your "higher" sales from Xiaomi. Who's the beggar now?

Also, you haven't bothered answering my other points, so I guess that concludes that what I have said is true, as you didn't even bother counter-arguing it anymore. Have a great day bro, I hope you can eat that trillion units sold of Xiaomi for your lunch :))

MrPong, 02 Jan 2021They did not even fix the ongoing touchscreen issue.Yeah, any phone with such widespread QC issues doesn't deserve to be called "best" anything except maybe "best way to ruin a good spec sheet"

Shanti Dope, 02 Jan 2021"Sony didn't give that option." But devel... more"But developers found out that such option existed on them after diving deeper into its display roots"
Is anyone supposed to care about it when Sony hasn't made it accessible to users nor they don't have any intention to? A hidden door, but no key to open it - essentially the same as not existing at all.

"I've seen slow-motion comparisons of having it on versus without it"
In that case, I think it's fairer to assume you were able to notice it BECAUSE the video was recorded in slow-mo.

"Is that why Samsung's flagship phones have always had burn in problems?"
That's simply because every year Samsung sells FAR more units than Sony Mobile hence the number of complaints you can see on the internet also naturally goes up significantly. I've been using S10 for over a year and a half now with brightness set to auto while I'm outside and manual max while inside, and so far I see no noticeable burn in whatsoever on its screen.

"Green tint? Flickering issues? Yellow tint? Red tint? Burn in? Black crush?"
1, 2. Fixed with software update, not hardware related.
3, 4. Early bad batches but you can fix with the colour sliders if you can't be bothered to take it to the store for replacement.
            5. Already explained above.
            6. The OG Xperia 1 actually had the black crush issue caused by incorrectly calibrated gamma curve.

1 million less than last year? Blaming the pandemic, yeah??
                You call 800k impressive???

Mi sold 45% more shipments compared to last year despite the pandemic.
It's at no.3 position now? Where is Sony?? Ooops no where to be found.

45 plus percent profit and 45 plus percent sales despite the pandemic.
That is impressive..... Not Sony which is barely clinging on in the smartphone world.

Also, it is not true that they're barely selling 350K units. They made a total of 800,000 sold units on the second half of last year, which is 100,000 units less than from last year, but also because of the pandemic situation that we have today, so that's still impressive considering they halved their workforce after the outbreak has started.
Xiaomi is literally advertising in some parts of the world; no wonder they'd sell more phones easily. But does that make any difference with using the phones themselves? I absolutely don't think so.
Lastly, they were not kicked out of any country; more like it was Sony themselves that pulled out of selling their phones in a lot of regions. Even GSMArena reported it, so I'm really curious as to where do you get your information from. I hope it is a reliable one, 'cause I'd be disappointed if I figure that you're just making up false claims.

most iPhone users will be technically using a 60hz panel in a new decade thinking it signifies premium.... SMH. I don't want to be part of an inferior ecosystem like Apple.

Most phones lose mostly between 30-60min of SOT due to HRR which is like less than 15% of extra battery average.
Besides Android phones have super fast charging unlike your slow snail speed decade old fast charging given Apple.

This is why they have been kicked out of countries and they can hardly sell 350k units in an entire quarter while companies like Mi selling 350k units in 5 minutes.

But developers found out that such option existed on them after diving deeper into its display roots. In any given circumstance, why didn't other Android phones with pure 60Hz displays had such options like this when doing the same procedures? Literally only Sony phones have had this thing. If it was really an Android OS's feature, then it would've been available to all Android devices and not just for Sony Xperias.

"Motion Blur Reduction tech is a gimmick and cannot compensate for a panel which actually has 120hz unlocked."

Some say it is a gimmick, but others were able to notice a difference. Tbh, I've seen slow-motion comparisons of having it on versus without it, and it's noticeable for me that texts were clearer when scrolling compared to having absolutely nothing at all.
We can safely say that it is a better 60Hz overall.

"Only cheap panels suffer burn in.
Tell your Sony to spend a little more on better quality panels if they are charging 1200€"

Really? Is that why Samsung's flagship phones have always had burn in problems? Take note, they were considered to be the best in the business when it comes to OLED panels, right?
Cheap or expensive, OLED is OLED, and OLED suffers from burn in, period.
It's literally these unprotected overshining of OLED panels to 1000 nits that causes shorter lifespan of the displays, which is why Sony's OLED phones were never known for having such problems in reality. How ironic that Sony's first attempt to using OLED screens was so much better than how Samsung did on their 9th generation, just from quality and longevity standpoint alone.
Green tint? Flickering issues? Yellow tint? Red tint? Burn in? Black crush? No such problems on Xperia OLEDs.

I'm surprised so many people are like, "anything below 120hz is unusable". That's because you don't have the patience to actually use 60hz. I use 60hz on my S20+ just for battery like and 1440p, and I'm fine with it. It also feels sharper, even if slower.
