ALPHABOY17, 10 Jan 2021I guess people prefer 1080p 120hz displays. I wonder why...... moreI have the s20 and i use it with 1440p-60hz
It does not warm up alot actually, i don't do heavy gaming, maybe is for that.
But i come from an s9 and i just love the 1440p... when you use it you can tell the difference!
And yes... i try 120hz but i don't feel it necessary... besides i love watch movies and videos on my phone so... 1440p is the way to go

Personally, 1080p is minimum, 60Hz is also fine, tho I personally like lightly curved more then flat or heavily curved.

I own a curved screen phone, i still prefer flat.
1440p at 120hz OLED would be the pinnacle of smartphone screens.

People that actually active at these kind of forums will always thrive for the best tech possible. Yet alone, try to show 90% phone users about 60hz vs 90+hz displays. Some of them will perceive the difference, sure. Yet tell them that there's a difference in battery life and they'll instantly choose the 60hz. Phones NEED to last at least 2 days first, then we'll talk about decreasing it's battery life with additional features.

Vangmay, 10 Jan 202190Hz 1080p flat is perfect1080p 120Hz Variable HRR is fine.
1440p 144Hz Variable HRR is perfect.

I prefer flat, HRR (atleast 90Hz) adaptive, and 1080p display. 1440p is a diminishing return IMO since 1080p has already high PPI for a standard smartphone usage, it can also incur lesser battery runtime. Display refresh rate on the other hand can be implemented as adaptive to conserve power unlike display resolution. The only thing that 1440p is a need is to cover-up the AMOLED pentile-matrix' lack of sharpness, other than that it's not a necessity.

I think 1440p,90Hz is the sweet spot for display resolution and refresh rate for phones.

I would prefer a 1080p at 60 Hz, flat, without gimmicks, and with $300 price tag for a midranger and $500 for a flagship, like not so long ago. I don't need a phone with 16 cameras, underdisplay selfi camera, 284 Hz refresh rate and 4K resolution on a tiny 6 inch screen. I can understand if some kids are excited about numbers and fancy terms for $1500, so they can look cool, but come on ...
