limafranco, 13 Jan 2021I just want to see if it will be as good as SD when it come... morethe cpu side looks like Samsung is faster because of the higher clocks clockspeeds but should technically use more power
gpu side mali normally have bad performance compared to adreno and power efficiency but looks unknown right now

I just want to see if it will be as good as SD when it comes to power consumption.

Sponge, 13 Jan 2021I'm always interested to read the way in which everybo... more....were easily fast enough, whycould Samsung and Qualcomm have reigned in the performance spittle more on the 888 and 2100 with more modest performance increases but more drastically improved the efficiency....I'm simply expecting the 2100 and 888 to be more inefficient than many Will be expecting them to..

I'm always interested to read the way in which everybody commenting here brackets a new SoC within a tier..

Who is it that actually creates the bracket with which a CPU is in?

As far as I can see both the Exynos 1080 and 2100 are both improved over and above the Exynos 990, are both not flagship SoC?

But does this also mean that people will moan incessantly if Samsung uses the 1080 within the likely future "S21 FE" because it's not the 2100?

But yet the 1080 would then not be suitable for the S21, Plus or Ultra? Would people have been annoyed if the 1080 was destined for these handsets and the 2100 never existed?

The 1080 is seemingly bracketed(so far) into the same tier as the (rumoured) Dimensity 1200 and Kirin 9000/E yet the 1080 is being touted as the replacement for the Exynos 980 by many which was itself called a mid-range chip, which wasnt even featured in that many Samsung's mid range handsets.

I always ask the question also if the performance increases of the 888 and 2100 are really necessary in a mobile?

Surely the snapdragon 865 and Exynos 990(outside its thorrling under heavy usage)

,but is exynos. Snapdragon 888 will be more reliable .you will see at tests soon

I remember especially on display in shops the Samsung models used to heat up after prolonged use.

Even if there is one, it somehow become other vendors issue and a debatable topic. My most memorable one was, back in original Unreal Tournament, nVidia had either a render issue with their Direct3D or OpenGL at 32bit bpp. There were other competitor at the time, such as 3dfx, Matrox, etc. Yet no other vendor has issue, except nVidia. Yet at nVidia forums, all user were screaming at Epic/Digital Extremes at the time.

ARM Mali Camera IP has always supported 4 cameras simultaneously since 2017.
