Anonymous, 18 Jan 2021Just because you don't personally see a use for someth... moregive us real world use cases for 4K phone displays then. The only use i can see for that is VR using your phone, and that ship sank long ago. It's not that no one needs it, it's that too little people need it, which is why you don't see 4K phones on the majority of flagships today. Nice strawmans btw

uknowme, 27 Jan 2021Fast charging destroy battery.... the higher W the more fas... moreBattery's degrade over time regardless of if they're used or not.
The reason why fast-charging degrades batteries is because it increases friction, this increases heat, and this is what increases the degradation rate. Lithium ion batteries are very similar, broadly speaking, but they can be designed with different properties in mind. This difference in chemistry can mean the difference between very cheap mass production, high capacity, lower weight, fast discharge rate, less environment damage etc etc.
The average Liion Cells we use in 2020, is better than the average Liion Cells we used back in 2010.... but there hasn't been any major huge improvements. Its just been small incremental improvements over a long stretch of time. As this goes on, we're going to find it harder and harder to make much improvements, and we are going to have to evolve to a new form instead. This famously happened with computing when we hit a "wall" with individual integrated circuits and shifted into planar transistors, which allowed Moore's Law to continue since the late 80's.

Samsung needs to get serious about the charging speed. And remove bloat like Bixby. I'm on P30 Pro and S21 Ultra barely entices me. Looking ahead to Mi 11 Pro. Xiaomi knows how to do charging.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2021Most qhd screens can be lowered to 1080pbut they are still QHD, they have to keep the same number of pixels on, it just upscaled to 1080p

I think 90hz strikes a great balance of smoothness and battery life. For me that's the way to go.

Using the ROG Phone 2 and after using it with 1080p 120 Hz OLED, anything else feels sloppy, even iPhones. 120 Hz does make a difference
The distance between 1080p and 1440p is so negligible. You will only find the difference if you actively look for it the whole time which is stupid. 1080p is fine unless you stick your phone screen an inch in front of your face

Andreidinutu, 17 Jan 2021Have you ever even tried using a curved display? I think yo... moreYes, I have a Note 10 for more than a year now, I use the s-pen a lot to take notes, the curved display is very annoying, reduces the usable area of the screen, also when watching videos in landscape orientation, light reflection on the edges gets very distracting, I wish it had a flat screen.

Meanwhile iPhone 12 at 200$ extra gives weak 60hz screen with 4hr SOT.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2021120hz really doesn't effect battery life all that much... moreYou the one that quit talking the thing that you the only one in the world don't know. The whole world is talking that 120hz kill battery but you still sleeping hahahaha. 1 sec need to output 120 hz frame compare to 60 frame of course will take more battery. less say if watching video 120hz video is 2 time the mobile data needed for normal 60 hz video. haha wake up. that why all mobile manufacturer now using adaptive screen can change 48 to 120 hz because most of the time you will be at 60 or even lower.

AnonD-804996, 18 Jan 2021Saying 1080p LED is comparable to 720p LCD literally tells ... moreThat 350 claim is over generalized. 1% is a bogus number you made up.
However yes their claims on perceived sharpness between 1080p pentile and 720p rgb does show they have no clue.
