At now Panasonic and Sony have most advance manufature technology for oled panels - printing. JOLED (Sony/Panas) show first in the world OLED printed display. About Sony, company produce only reference panels (super-top emission RGB) for Pro Sony Monitors (like BVM-X300v2) and panels for camera viewfinders (like one in Alpha 1 - 0.6inch 240Hz 2.5K OLED ~4000ppi).

What it lacks though, much like LG, is outstanding upscaling, motionflow and all other post processing stuff that no one can touch Sony at. Sony MASTER series are the real deal and I dare to say Z9 LCD is better than OLED.

I m truly and anxiously waiting for Sony Xperia 1ıı and 1ııı.. As I am based in India (Mumbai) so cud'nt get any of these....Lauch only in US of nw Pro wil be no help for Non US customers......

But it needs to have its own phones to develop those cameras and audio parts.
Basically Sony buyers are helping Sony's development efforts. And I am happy with this because they are the most independent phone maker.

Also lg OLED would defo be better than an led or LCD, Sony or whichever brand. Besides, Sony OLED panels are made my lg, as OLED is proprietary LG. They probably supply the panels to other OLED TV manufacturers. Sony's build quality and screen calibration is amazing

s-pen pusher, 23 Jan 2021sony was better in the old days, but not anymore. lg and sa... moreThe only thing that Sony does worse than Samsung are marketing, Sony was the first company to launch Quantum dot displays (Triluminos), they have been using it since 2013, Samsung launched their first TV's with similar technology in 2015 in their SUHD range.
Later they renamed it Qled to try to fool less informed customers to think that they could compete with OLED displays, which they can only surpass in brightness.
I'd be less definite in my comments if I were you, when you are posting about tech you clearly don't know enough about.

Sony is the best in keeping potential buyers waiting. Quite often the time beetween announce and delivey is so long that the strong wish of buying disappears.... Seriously Sony, what you do is very wrong. You're are not the only smartphone making company, you know.
