Google makes too much money from AUS, NZ, UK, and Europe.
There is 0% chance that they will pull out of those markets. Currently they're dominating the markets, so taking their foot off the pedal, will only mean a new, bigger, better competitor takes their place. Even at reduced profits, there are tangible benefits to Google in being in those markets, and that's a strategy of ecosystems. For instance Search can prioritise; Google Services, Adsense/Adword, Youtube, Maps, Translate, Gmail, Drive, Docs, Chrome, Android, PlayStore, etc etc.
Now this whole fiasco came to be, because it was Google which demanded payment from the media in order to promote their news on their platforms. However, the news outlets turned around and said, it was in-fact Google which needed to pay them. When you think through it, it does make logical sense. Google gets lots of visits and clicks due to these people looking specifically for these news outlets (hence, why Google is hesitant in releasing the data). And there is a lot of plagiarism occurring on these from many "alternative news" sources you see on Social Media, YouTube, Blogs, etc etc. And Google benefits from these sources as well, whilst the initial authors get nothing. It's worth noting that these media sources have steadily lost revenue, so something is happening. These news outlets actually spend a lot of money on staff, equipment, and political deals to station their news crews around the world, and then they spend time/effort/money in getting accurate events, and bringing the news piece to people. That process is important in weeding out all the "fake news" we've seen a huge rise from independent journalists in the last 10 years. So compensating these original news sources is a natural conclusion.
I see this happening in the demographics listed above. However, it won't happen in the USA and Canada, as the tech giant has too much influence there to let something so radical to occur.

Call their bluff. If Google pull out of Australia the Aussies will quickly discover that there are other search providers. Conversely Google will lose some of its ad income in Australia (I say "some" because I doubt they'll pull Google ads, or turn off Google Home devices or Assistant and thereby cede those markets to others). And once it's seen that no actual damage is done to Australian society Google will lose leverage elsewhere.
My guess is that Google know that they have more to lose here and won't actually do it. They just hate the idea of being regulated at all and are hoping the scare others off trying, but actually doing it would demonstrate how limited their threat actually is.

Fvck google with these issue. Google easily snatches some cash from websites. They uses the data from different websites and use it on their search engine.

Interesting. So tech giants have started blackmailing governments who won't take money and allow such activities to shut down industries? All countries need to start taxing tech companies more and also ensure they don't breach IP and other laws so flagrantly. Plus, election manipulation and propaganda. Maybe its time Tech Behemoths are held accountable.
