IpsDisplay, 25 Jan 2021This strategy is working for mediatek Mediatek doesn... moreThe only reason that Mediatek success in China in 2020 because of 5G
While Qualcom only have 865 & 765.
Mediatek gives the chinese brand the cheap 5G chipset (700's & 800's).
Because no one want 4G anymore in China
And that's make China have 250 million 5G user in 2020

This strategy is working for mediatek

Mediatek doesn't need to have the most powerful chipset in the world all they need is a NICHE just like how it works in the animal kingdom

Look how mediatek has top market share in China and chipsets overall

What's funny is enthusiasts think that if the chipset isn't the best of the best mediatek has no future

But these people forget a thing call ECONOMICS if mediatek makes cheap chipsets then there will be better profit margins and then it's a win win
