Does anyone else think it's odd that this 'Pro' device doesn't come with a full-size HDMI? I think the one on the phone is too delicate especially for the price.

LOL, Sony has gone bananas! No one will buy this thing, even those who have the money would want to flash a top of the line iPhone or Samsung much sooner than this thing.

You want them to change the cpu, rewrite whole software (yeah, it has to be done when cpu is different), test all units again. And throw in the trash all SD865 units bought for this device.
"Nice".
All this for the device that main purpose is to be an accessory of photography/videography.
People want this phone to use as screen/mobile router. They do not care if CPU is 865 or 888, if camera is imx557 or the new sensor of 1iii.
It is a cheaper alternative the real monitors. Also is a phone.
By the way. Keep demanding more cameras on phones and more expensive sensors. All this brings billions of dollars to Sony to keep Xperia around.
The more you buy, the longer they keep making phones.

Most of the people here: Crying over all the devices that either they don't like or can't afford.
Its simple guys. Buy the phone that suits your needs and budget.

Design an elegant phone... moreAnyone who really has an idea about using professional monitors for digital cameras will understand how useful of a tool it is to have a smartphone that does basically almost everything, including live video streaming through 5G (which requires expensive modems that cost more than this phone in total), but at a fraction of the total price.
It is literally a niche device intended for "professional" users, as the name suggests it to be, and it's not for anyone with short budget and has no idea what it's main use is all about.
Basically it's not for you, so why are you bothered so much? They have their Xperia 5 II, which works as a much better mainstream phone than this if you're looking for a generic smartphone instead.
But let me guess, if this was a Samsung or Apple, you wouldn't complain about it even if it was $3000, will you?

You consider Sony to be a joke, but you're bothered enough to always spend some of your precious time to comment rubbish statements against them. Isn't that ironic?

1. Design an elegant phone
2. Put in last year's technology
3. Maybe have a niche feature some people might find useful
4. Take a reasonable price, then quadruple it
5. Wonder why their market share keeps going down

So just stick with Xiaomi.

Sony is better to quit mobile phone business. This pro that Sony like to put is non success . I remember a years ago I saw a walkmen Sony pro with crazy price . What happens no one knows no more. This will be same happen with this pro phones. No one normal.person will pay this price. This is a phone for 2018 not 2021.!!!!!!

The only display that has 128% sRBG, even Note20Ultra only has 98% sRGB, it is DCI P3 calibrated
it is shame that gsm arena doesnot do colour calibration for display review
