First Sony Xperia 1 III renders show a periscope camera, slimmer bezels

28 January 2021
The design is otherwise unchanged - all flat sides and 90° angles. Sony will keep the 3.5 mm jack and microSD slot that we enjoyed on the Mark II.

Looks like sony is going to win best design in the year again in my opinion
Thin bezels with no notch no hole
Keeping essential features like HJ , micro sd card
Front firing speakers ( maybe improvement since they are wider now )
Bigger camera module ( new sensors maybe along with periscope lens 5x i think )
Looks pretty interesting but some improvements are welcomed like brighter display and added night mide , improved stock camera , bigger battery , keeping accessories in the box and that's is enough for me tobuy it and please sony release it month after announcement date don't be slow you really need to address this problem

I read somewhere that it's actually better for EIS to support video than OIS where OIS is better for pictures. Since you can zoom in with Ultrawide, it allows the main cam to keep that quick burst shot function while perfecting what was otherwise 'OK' video quality from the last flagships with the Ultrawide.

      Keep dreaming.

Those 48MP used by midranges do not support 8K, only the larger 48 used by Oppo / 1+.

This look good but price gonna be insanely high..

It's assumed, for cinematography purposes, that the Ultrawide cam will be anywhere between 48MP-50MP with EIS to support 8K video recording while the main sticks to 12MP (quick burst shots) and the Periscope will be at 12MP (similar to the Mate 40 Pro). I assume 12GB RAM/256GB ROM as well but I'm just happy they kept the headphone jack, microSD card, front-facing stereo speakers, and physical fingerprint reader (more accurate and doesn't require me to find the right screen protector).

I'm just hoping the 4G/5G bands will be plenty and that the battery is, at MINIMUM, 4,800mAH. If Sony does those two (even if the US market will have to charge $100 more due to mmWave), Sony will earn my pre-order.

No gsmarena, digital does not solve the huge FL gap issue.
4K video + digital zoom becomes FHD, HD and VGA.
Reason why big sensor cameras do not have digital zoom beyond the optical.

Remeber , the super steady of Samsung cant do 4K.
It is 2x digital zoom from the 13mm to match 26mm.

              Do not demand 240mm periscope.
This would be pretty bad for Cinema Pro.
              Switching from 24 to 240mm.
Unless is real zoom like Asus did years ago.
