Mi 10 Ultra kicks the crap out of all current smartphones (besides the newly launched S21 Ultra) in terms of the specs and Huawei's flagship phones (the P and Mate series) are known to have the best camera quality.

"Xiaomi representatives called the blacklisting "unconstitutional" "

That's a weird statement coming from people who live in a dictatorship.

One of the reasons Huawei and the likes are getting banned is because they're undercutting competition with multi-billion dollar state subsidies. Huawei is getting close to 100 billion US dollar in Beijing funding. That's the main reason they can undercut western prices. I don't see these bans going away any time soon, as the damage is already done for years to come.

They could reduce prices but they wouldn't unless they have the competition. Tha iss to companies like Xiaomi and oppo, samsung now has budget phones which are practically good.

For 3 years I used this phone to deliver for amazon, amazon navigation and delivery app was working 10-12hrs/day on this phone. And another 1hr - 1hr 30min with Google maps. I'm a class1 driver now and I use it with co-pilot trucks 10-14hrs/day. And the music, WhatsApp calls and so on. Why would I pay 1000£ for a Samsung or Apple. My next phone will be another Xiaomi.

Phones from Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG or Google are better than those Chinese phones, they are just more expensive and people tend to skip them.
Yeah, competition is good, but what China wants to achieve is not competition, is just trying to be the next USA in the World. I would rather be a puppet of USA, than of China.
China probably will win some people over now by playing the victim, which they clearly never were and never will be.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2021I don't think Xiaomi are able to gauge the anger again... moreYou can always unlock the boot loader and install aosp. It is fairly non technical. People are complaining for nothing.

Ultimately the customer is harmed with this. Huawei and Xiaomi consistently make better phones than the American ones. Apple and Google can't compete , so they force a ban. It sounds like BS. I mean China has shady dealings, but sometimes they win you straight and instead of upping the competition (as you should have done) you ban them.

The result would be sh*tty iPhones with progressively worse hardware and higher prices. Only the little guy is harmed by things like that. Again if you are concerned about the ccp install AOSP, the solution is as easy as pie. That's not it...

All Chinese companies are required to share people's sensitive personal data with ccp which is then used for political prosecution and censorship. What makes xiaomi different than others like tencent? Either ban all or ban none and give up the freedom of speech.
