They set a particular temperature in software where beyond that performance drops to keep device cool. Screen also dims to keep performance cool.

Also Samsung doesn't do benchmark cheating. That's why it post lower score on benchmark.

My S20 FE 5G did have good system performance, but I was shocked to find out it throttled quickly. Sure, the battery efficiency is really good but it could deliver better sustained performance.

So, if they can show better performance initially people will think it has same performance for the rest of the percentage and that's what it should have been.

On par or not, they both have poor battery life. I laughed so hard when they lost 3% of charge after the screen being on for 10 minutes with the device being on airplane mode and not being used. Abysmal
