Instead solid electrolyte batteries also known as solid state battery is the next evolution after Lithium batteries

What a phenomenal response. If you look at this, you'd feel people are desperate for a compact phone. But according to latest reports, Apple is going to discontinue manufacturing of the 12 Mini from April 2021 because of poor demand.

i am using s10e its a perfect phone for me....after long time i am able to get something this good recentyl i had iphone 6 then galaxy note 8....s10e is perfect phone minus exynos(does not affect me as i am not a heavy user) and battery.

guamacamy, 08 Feb 2021all mini phones are completely useless they don't even... moreYeah, but the problem is, the people like you who love or need bigger phones have lots and lots of choices, both cheaper and pricier, but the people who love or need smaller phones don't have much choice at all, especially if for some reasons (price, file system, lack of 3.5 jack etc) iPhones are not for them.

i fed up with these android tablets, il definitely going to migrate from android mini Tvs to 12mini.

I like a 4.5 - 5 inch 16:9 phone, thickness would not be a problem if increases battery size. But that's not gonna happend. Something like the idea of OneDevice.

XR vs 11 vs 12 vs 12 mini
These are the sub-$800 iPhones with the webOS copycat gesture swipes. Each of them have a flaw.
The XR is definitely getting long in the tooth. Only one camera. Worse display next to the 11 but has one od the best battery life thank to the lower res and LCD.
For my needs, it comes down to the 11 or 12. The XR is $500, the 11 is $600, the 12 mini is $730, and the 12 is $800. The T-Mobile trade-in deals can help pay off the 12 at only $200 with just an 8 getting traded in for $600. Or get the 11 for free. The is 30g lighter than the 11 which I prefer and also shorter and narrower. The 11 is still $200 cheaper and has the rounded edges which I prefer but may not mind for once it's in a TPU case.
The 12 mini I feel should be priced even lower like $600. Hell, even $500 but that would ruin XR and 11 sales. The killer for it is really battery life. Your hand might enjoy holding it but your eyes won't. And you're going to have to keep looking to charge it. It's really catered for casual usage.
I actually prefer the 11 Pro and 12 Pro as they're the perfect size and have the matte back finish. But for $200-$300 more, not worth it. Stick to the XR and 11 which are a few hundred dollars cheaper. They feature worse resolutions, less cams, and a tad bigger but they also offer the best battery life mixed balanced with a slightly bigger display and better price.
For my needs: 12 > 11 > XR > 12 mini
But I can go 11 > 12 only because it's $200 cheaper but it's still 30g heavier.

Really like my Z5 compact. Small and it was powerful. iPhone 12 Mini is a good successor but the battery performance (according to gsmarena test) is not as good as Z5 compact.

At this point, compact phones which were the norms back then have become niche and more of a lifestyle phone for people who don't mind the compromises as long as they can handle the phone with one hand and carry it around easier.
For more productivity, the bigger ones are better for most people which is why they're priced higher. I was very interested in the iPhone 12 mini or really any compact flagship. Then I realized I prefer better media consumption with the bigger display and longer battery life which compact phones don't really offer.

I feel sorry for low selling of small size yet powerful phones. They are so handy and all can be done. No need to use with 2 hand, and comfort to the pocket space..

The S10 5G by comparison, had a relatively ginormous 4500mAh battery (the "normal" Pixel 5 had 4080mAh).
There aren't more small phones because people got really tired of putting up with small batteries hamstrung by current technology and having to charge the phone more throughout the day, only accelerating its degradation and making the bad battery lives of smaller phones even worse over time.

IMO with compact phones you should be able to access top to bottom of the screen with your thumb while operating it single handed without overly stretching it. last phone i can do it comfortably is on Redmi 4x, so i voted something around that dimension, 140*70. also compact phones don't need to be able to run any high demand games out there, that's what your humongous flagship killer with power hungry processors are for. compact phone is for your day to day driver for people who don't like big bulge from phones in my pocket and dont like bringing the man purse thingy.

I know that compact phones make up 5% of total phone sales, that's because every sub-$300 phone is a humungous chungus 6.4"+ behemoth.

About time GSM Arena did a poll like this, they've been banging on far too long about 70mm+ phones being "compact".
