Well Snapdragon no more, glad to see they both equal so many cry babies will shut up this year, there is nothing really to talk about :)

Throttle complain. Low battery life complain. Come on, you can't have the best of both worlds.

It gets really hot at 50celcuis, does not throttle at all. Changed kernel and custom ROM, CPU clocked at 3.1ghz all 8 cores.
          It's super fast phone now.
The kernel will let CPU, GPU to sustain maximum and will not throttle even for 1 hour gaming at 70fps.
          Severe battery drain.

Norwegian Gangster , 09 Feb 2021A14 throttling hasn't been fixed. 60fps on Genshin I... moreActually that is false as TechTablets has tested the 12 Pro at iOS 14.2. Later, he tested the 12 Pro Max and he was impressed with the performance as this phone scored almost 92% in 3DMark. Not the best result but still good enough. Maybe the small size of the phone also contributes to the throttling.

No phone can run Genshin at maxed out 60fps. As a player since release I’ve noticed a lot of performance issues after version 1.2 (Dragonspine map update). Many users have complained graphical glitches and dropped frames.

I have played the game on a Samsung S20 FE 5G (SD865) and at medium rendering and shadows and rest set to high settings at 30fps this phone already thermal throttles badly, I suspect that can be a compatibility issue. I now have a iPhone 12 Pro Max and it barely heats up at the same settings.

Either phone has few graphical glitches already. One bug is Xiao’s spear/polearm at Dragonspine suddenly turning rainbow colored (I tested it on the iPhone that time). And the Dragonspine cavern flashing if you look below the tunnel (either Samsung/iPhone) I’ve seen other players with high end phones having flashing graphics because of rendering issues.

Conclusion? You can’t use that game to rule out which phone performs better. This game is not even optimised well on the PS4 platform. If you want to know which phone does better than unfortunately benchmarks rule everything out.

Therefore if anyone brings up that game and tells if a phone lags then it’s an underpowered phone, I think that’s misleading. It’s just a game.

60fps on Genshin Impact but only for first 5 minutes. 45fps average after 5 minutes.
Snapdragon 888 and Kirin 9000 easily giving 55fps average sustained performance.
A14 Antutu score drops significantly after repeated benchmarks just like the Exynos 2100.

[deleted post]Yes they cheat in GeekBench. The latest version of GeekBench improves both single core and multi core score for A14 but scores of Snapdragon 888/Kirin 9000 and other 5nm chips drips further down.

Their GeekBench scam has been exposed. They can only cheat there by having larger cache. Run a real heavy app and the performance caters down.

Intel/Ryzen desktop class chips with 65W/95W Tdp are supposedly slower to A14 inside 5W Tdp chip according to this biased GeekBench benchmarks.

Than again, GSMArena has lost their touch for a long time and is hitting that vendor bias by the days.

The ONLY time when Exynos is better than Snapdragon, is when Qualcomm shoot themselves, like the SD810. Period. There's always a fail point at Exynos as a mobile SoC that matters (heat and/or battery mostly), and it always sucked for developers.

How journalist trying very hard to justify to satisfy their vendor ad payment and fanboy is just - amusing.

So we have two runners here who finish short distance "almost" at the same time. One is smiling, another one is sweating, out of breath with his heart jumping out of his chest. But hey, they are "virtually and even quantifiably identical", right, Victor? :-)
