Sony Xperia 1 II received the External monitor app from the Xperia Pro with the Android 11 update

This app allows the phone to serve as an external monitor for your digital camera. It's not clear whether the Xperia 5 II will get the app as well.

    They still want to sell under 400$ but they were kicked out mercilessly by Chinese manufacturers. Even the mighty Samsung had to bow down and change their strategy in the budget/mid range segment.

          Sony wants to keep selling more phones above $800 than models below $400. 1ii is best seller of 2020 lineup.
          Not having 90% of their sales based on low midranges + low ends like other brands.

          Asus no longer makes midranges/low ends. Just had zenfone 7, 7 pro and ROG series.
          Meizu same story. No more cheap sub $400 phones.

            Xperia 1 ii has sensor with ADC (similar purpose, but cheaper option).

            I suspect 1iii is gonna have both and 50MP bayer like Alpha 1.

                They just launched a unique device for 2500$ targeted towards a super niche category of users and now they do this...
                This is the reason why Sony is struggling with sales.

                    Pro has four 5G antennas, it can easily go 2x the speed of regular mmWave phone.
                    Pro has button to start the camera.
                    Better cooling and tough body.
                    The japanese version of 1 (called 1 Professional Edition) could do it already.
                    Nothing new ...

                      Niceee. I expect 1III coming with another features oriented or based in Alpha line-up like Cinetone on A1 since top-selling features like 4K120FPS (A7SIII) and 20FPS 60 AF/AE per second (A9II) are available on Xperia.
