Alex, 16 Feb 2021Were you advertising S21? :-)))If Samsung is willing to pay me to advertise their S21, Alex, I will. But we all know how most people feel about Samsung's new S-series lineup.

But I do wish I can meet a person who is hardcore audio junkie like you guys and get to experience high quality sounding music because I do not think my THX PC speakers nor my floor-standing speakers would be enough or do justice.

But you are never wrong there; your only limitation is what your need.

Most of the world is comfortable with holding and operating a S21 comfortably in one hand and thereby considers it compact.
OneUi is just icing on the cake as the user doesn't have to reach top of the screen for this taller display.

i0S.-.Never.-.Again, 14 Feb 2021What laws of physics? Your assessment is based on some poll... moreA site full of phone enthusiasts, most of whom have held phones of a wide variety of sizes and shapes, have a very good idea of what that volume feels like. I worked in the mobile industry from the flip phone era until last fall, and have held every Samsung smartphone flagship but the fold/flip. I have an extremely good sense of the size of the S21; it cannot warp space time to overcome visibly significant size differences in feel.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2021S21 somehow defies the laws of physics to feel 5.1mm narrow... moreWhat laws of physics? Your assessment is based on some poll where most people voting haven't held the Galaxy S21 in their hand.

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2021I disagree. Having FLAC files obviously that person is an e... moreTechnically, you're wrong at one thing though: FLAC doesn't have to mean High Res.
FLAC is a free audio codec which compresses and packs every audio information from the CD quality signal in a lesser size, and it could well be at a 44.1 Khz refresh rate which means the audio is refreshed 44,100 times every second or so. Above 40Khz was considered high res, at least all these years, but not anymore I guess.

Nowadays, even Redmi mobile phones and earphones are claiming High Res(-olution) Audio compliance which means upto 96 Khz refresh, or 192 Khz too.
But that's just rapidly refreshing or "fastly changing" audio... Not high quality in terms of element clarity and dynamic range of audio.
Plus, if the source audio is itself 48Khz, then nothing can get it to very high res.

In short, older FLAC files, even those around 2010-20 era or so, may well be 40Khz, 44.1Khz or 48Khz...

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2021I disagree. Having FLAC files obviously that person is an e... moreEnthusiasts obviously, come in various levels in real life. Not all have the highest requirements, or the budget to fulfill it.
I'm clearly not saying that LG flagships are the level best there are, but they makes sense for anyone who must get a phone anyhow, with a decent attempt at high level audio, reasonably good camera as well.
And every dollar saved in device means some extra to spend in the headphones and that's a bigger deal in my opinion. I've found headphones making more difference than the device in my experience.
Of course, not disagreeing with you, you could well be right for your specific use case, situation and economy.
(For a reference, I'm college professor and I get $200 monthly, that's it. Somehow got LG G8x, and yes, I'm an audiophile not by western standards though, now saving money for a good pair of headphones.)

Having FLAC files obviously that person is an enthusiast of lossless audio, and can differentiate between Mp3, or any other formats. And FLAC file is a popular format for Hi-Res audio. If they are truly an audiophile and want to carry their music around with them, I still think investing in a portable high-end music player is a must, because after all, audiophiles will spend thousand of dollars for that perfect system setup because they demand the highest sound quality possible.

And HiRes audio is a different thing- it just means you have more detail, the audio frames change more quickly on a microsecond level, that's it.
Just like image resolution in pixels, HiRes audio is not a guaranteed level of quality, and you can find it supported on both cheap phones and cheap earphones... its just a marketing keyword in my opinion.
