Anonymous, 11 Feb 2021Micro sd cards can slow down your phone because phone'... moreOnce again I ask, where the freak are y'all getting that crap that microSD cards slow down your phone? I'm using an LG V20 with MicroSD and have noticed a whopping ZERO slow-downs with the phone.

First of all, most of us use them to store FLAC and movies to access whenever we feel like it without the need for an internet connection and without taking up internal storage.

Second of all, the Extreme Pro/Extreme Pro+ Sandisk microSD cards are practically reaching internal storage speeds. Even for a mere second or two latency to store videos, how is that even a problem?

If you can't answer my first question, stop defending pointless hardware removals that don't affect your way of life because the feature is there (like the headphone jack).

YUKI93, 11 Feb 2021Don't be stupid, not all phones have OTG support.Sorry but all phones support it unless you talk about really old ones.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2021You just need to face the fact micro SD is becoming obsolet... moreTLDR: microSD is not even dead, bottlenecked, or obsolete, but phone fabricators want it to, which is not beneficial.

what if i tell you that those are for like captured media? cloud?
i mean, i don't trust the cloud with the fact that those data stored is subject to any accidents and incidents that kill what you have stored in the cloud.

something you need to also understand is microSD is not obsolete, but fabricators want it to go away to force people for either higher storage variant or cloud. once again, microSD isn't yet bottlenecked, if you know what microSDUC Express is (up to 128TB with PCIe3.0+based pins). even more, captured media can straight to microSD without hassling the internal. it isn't just for phones, but also useful for gadgets such as drone, camera, PC, etc.

also, about gaming, indeed i have a gaming PC, so it doesn't matter.
for the streaming platform, excluding the copyright issues, there is no absolute guarantee that what you love to watch would stay for a long-enough period until you are out of interest.

i won't be buying a flagship that lacks essential features that other lower-end phones have, because it's "paying more for less".

lottery248, 11 Feb 2021at the current state, it shouldn't be. not gonna lie,... moreYou just need to face the fact micro SD is becoming obsolete just like the Mini SD. I do not understand why there is a cry for it. For what? Gaming? Build yourself a gaming rig, instead; it is immersive than mobile. Watching movies, Netflix and other streaming services are there online. If you can afford a flagship device, you surely can afford to get yourself a gaming rig and a smart TV - which every household has one.

My honest reaction is, "just 30%"... It actually is signifying a worse situation, believe me.
The flagships just launched, they should be doing better by around double..

This is despite that S21's processor & graphics setup is significantly better than S20's, which was honestly a slouch..

Oh great next year they'll sell them with recycled plastic displays, single speaker, remove the fake telephoto camera, a paper box, call them green, "saving the world", same release prices with later discount and the'll sell 60% better than this year...

With customers like these buyers, wohooo, what a wonderfull world for business. I should starting to sell some ovepriced featureless things, the most simple ones with brain washing marketing. Seems that it's the way to be success now and what this generation of genious buyers prefer. I also must profit it!!!

The average consumer only thinks about : Price, Looks and camera.

not gonna lie, companies are calling to use cloud instead. but think again, you can also use cloud with a phone supporting microSD. moreover, there are still no good alternatives to it, especially SDA has been evolving their standards to hope companies utilise on, but who listened to it?

Dometalican, 11 Feb 2021Doesn't make it right so...Micro sd cards can slow down your phone because phone's storage is much faster. You don't need it anyone. If your phone is full of pictures music videos just buy usb flash drive and usb otg cable. Copy everything into your usb flash drive.

Maybe finally people are coming around. I do not believe that people will turn their back to huge screens in the foreseeable future, but I do hope that companies, at last, will add a compact, proper flagship in their lineup.
The sales figures seem logical to me. People having S10 or older phones are going to replace it. And who would care for the material of the back of the phone, since the majority uses a case anyway?
S21 would be my next phone, if it supported S-pen and microSD card.

Just goes to show a lot if people don't realise or don't care that the S21 series is inferior to the S20 series
