I never understood why the like of Huawei is still using ARM when RISC V is available for a few years now. They're so f-ing lazy, buy licence instead of doing your own engineering.
These companies have no shame!!!

This is exactly the same as with Qualcomm, Samsung (until VERY recently when they now make some of them in their own fabs), MediaTek, Apple and everyone else. All fabbed by TSMC and designed around original ARM core IP.
TSMC fabs tons of chips, Nvidia GPUs are also "made" by TSMC by the same logic.

ARM shouldn't be owned or controlled by ANY company related to the semiconductor industry, it needs to remain independent & neutral or it'll skew the level playing field.
It's like you have 500 chickens & you turn 1 of them into a fox, the fox says it'll play fair but will it?

They are going alot assault with RIS... moreLike RISC-V is the answer to all their tech problem. 1) Just because it open-sourced, doesn't mean it will exempt by get banned from sanction 2) It would be still years if we do ever see RSIC-V moving to the mobile space.
And regardless of all this, China will still impose tactic on delay the approval of non-competitive to try sabotage the deal. They have done it already, delay a non-case for two years and the acquisition was called of eventually due to the market change.

People got to stop claim custom ARM design is a self-"made" CPU. It a self design. Not even Apple is overly aggressive with this marketing and do mention ARM in most of the PR and very seldom, if any use the word 'made'.

All the big guys have been unsuccessful making low power CPU/GPU so far. They must partner with a company who has enough experience with low power IC.
MediaTek seems to be only company left now, though I still think MediaTek isn't upto the level to help Nvidia with GPU design.
Nvidia should have partnered with Samsung. Nvidia's loss.

I am guessing even 8nm Surge S3 will be comparable to SD765G
