I don't see how this market share is relevant.

They are comparing Androids ranging from $100 to $700 and i bet you that half that market share is based on the lower Android priced phones.

iPhone focuses on the premium market their cheapest 3GS iPhone is still around $450.

You get any Android phone at any price, activate it and it considers a new activated device.

If Apple had a $100 phone you would see a big difference.

I was trying to point out an example but was not as thorough. Aside from that, the bigger the OSs market share and the more money it controls the better your leverage in attracting and negotiating content like music, video, apps, etc. Just trying to make a point that it doesn't matter if you have 1 or 10 phone models. What matters for leverage is market share.

It's not that WP8 is bad, but from Nokia point of view they can expand more with Android.

Unfortunately, the most important battle here is between OSs. That's why dominance is usually measured between OSs. It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 10 phones... If your OS commands a larger portion of the market then developers will flock to your system. I hope this clears things up for you.

They need to put the 920 on as many carriers as possible, including prepaid. The 710 should have been on multiple prepaid networks by now.
