24 February 2021
This could be the first phone with a 165Hz display on the market.

It's a HUGE upgrade going from 60 to 120, one should be able to tell the difference pretty damn easily. Any movement on the screen -> easy to spot the smoothness that 60 Hz just can't provide. I would also say that a faster panel reduces eye strain, at least my eyes seem to love the 144 Hz panel I bought years ago. I had a 34" Dell that was limited to 60 only, replaced that with a quality 144 Hz monitor and holy F - the difference is literally night and day. On desktop, you can easily spot the mouse trailing behind on a 60 Hz monitor, but not with a 144 Hz. Or 120.

Same goes for phones. For example, going through a menu or browsing the web on a faster panel is just smoother. I can't understand how some people say they don't see the difference. Mind-boggling.

120hz is simply better. You are the problem. Don't force 60hz upon us. Keep your sh*tty 60hz screen to yourself

Only when I record the difference side-by-side when reading an article and slow the video down by 8x, then I can see the difference. If I have to go that length just to see the difference, I would easily take 60Hz all day long.

I'm loving the high refresh rate trend but battery tech, game support and SoC performance need to catch up first! 165 Hz with a wide adaptive sync range (30-165 or better) is probably the reasonable jump to do for now.
