This would be an interesting question for those people in China who can actually buy it. Since the phones are not available anywhere else and no official prices anywhere outside of China are known, this is a completely pointless poll since it's clearly not targeted at Chinese readers (it's not in Chinese...). Once you look at the prices in China and add import, VAT and shipping cost and take into account you have zero support and the fact that maybe they won't even have the optimal frequency bands for your country, then you can make some conclusions...

I'd rather have the Moto Edge S. K40 not having a headphone jack or micro SD is absolutely unacceptable

You only need a pair of 40 buck wired headphones to get more clarity than any (ANY) bluetooth 5.0 headphone will ever produce.
Sure, the DAC on that wired phone will have to be good. But that also goes for the ultra-low voltage DAC in your tiny earbuds, which is easier said than done.

Bluetooth is extremely convenient, but the sound quality is 90's level mp3.

K40+ but ill buy it next year

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2021You do realize there are wired headphones more expensive th... moreYes, there are more expensive wired headphones. But the majority of people using wired headphones on their phones, use cheap ones (maybe not necessarily 20EUR, but still). That's why I was saying, people complain that there is no headphone jack on some particular model, but they go and listen to music on some average wired headphones. Which have no quality improvements compared to wireless headphones (Bluetooth 5.0, 5.1, 5.2).
Yes, I do admit in gaming the latency is still an issue with wireless headphones (even thou also in here the improvements can be seen). But, for music and videos/movies there is zero latency problem. The same with connection and quality.

For the K40 ONLY maybe not I believe the dimensity 1200 performs better and will cost even less

The realworld pricing for the K40 line seems to be considerably higher than the K30 was despite being advertised at cheaper prices. I could have gotten a Poco F2 Pro for £260 last year but i fear that's not going to be the case with an F3 Pro in which case they aren't the price leaders anymore.

They just can't beat xiaomi/redmi in pricing even for realme.

It's not ideal but it's hardly the end of the world to use one.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2021Even though professionals do tend to use more wired headpho... moreIndeed, wireless is for mobility and simplicity. Even, it's much more convenient sitting in my couch and connect the BT to my AVR rather than plug the 3.5mm and can't do anything else (browsing etc). Audio professionals may use $300 phones for many purposes, but they plug the phone via USB to a better audio system (DAC at least). Conclusion, indeed wired required situationally, but 3.5mm omission not such a great deal.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2021Even though professionals do tend to use more wired headpho... moreYou do realize there are wired headphones more expensive than 20 bucks, right? BT 5.0 is nice and all, but still have latency issues (not relevant for music though imo, just gaming).

Wireless is a nice thing to have and while earbuds are definitely good enough, nothing beats wired studio headphones. Even 120€+ headphones were better than certain expensive wireless ones.

I agree wireless might be the future though.

For the moment, rather than complaining about 3.5 jack, better finding nice portable USB DAC from good brands like Sony or Fiio for affordable ones.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2021Except the main sensor, all other cameras are hopeless.Yeah, they've moved more to a gaming focus with these as the cameras have been downgraded slightly from the equivalent models in the k30 series

Besides, Bluetooth 5.0 has resolved much of the problems that older wireless headphones had.
And yes wireless is the future. Maybe not in 1 year, but in the near future majority of the phones will be port-less. Of course people will complain (there are always the unsatisfying ones, regardless of what the market is shifting towards), but in the end they will accept and adapt.

                                      The Android Freak, 28 Feb 2021I didn't know about 1 and 2.OIS doesn't matter:
                                      1. if your image sensor is large and have large pixel size so the shutter speed is always high
                                      2. If You don't shoot a lot of night and indoors photos and videos
                                      3. If Your phones night mode is only 5 seconds max
                                      4. If you have an tripod or gimbal
                                      5. If you don't care about slight blur in photos or the artefacts of EIS

But, for the average consumer, everything is possible. I mean, even Mate 40 Pro doesn't have OIS, yet its auto mode night photo is better than an OIS equipped 108MP samsungs, 12 MP small sensors OIS, and the 48 MP Mi 10 ultra with OIS. It is at night mode that the Mate 40 Pro loses because the night mode takes 7 seconds, and without OIS, it is an blurry mess.

And also for the software processing, take a look at DXOMARK. Look at the camera review of the Mi 10T amd Mi 10T Pro. Even though in daytime, the dynamic range difference is very huge. Despite the same subject, lighting, and pixel size. So the camera software takes a hit if it is not an Flagship.
