And in fact the S21 ultra have been over taken by huawei p50 pro when it comes to smartphone's display according to their review

Trusted DXO-mark earlier but after seeing 20+ comparisons I can guarantee the S21 camera + zoom is way better than s20 in real life conditions. Shame that I cant trust them anymore.

Dxomark isnt a bench mark to be trusted so dxo mark need to start being honest or theire lose credibilty fast to people ..people are not stupid and dont just depend and look at dxomark ranks..and they can judge and read and look at many thousands of other reviews that say the opposite of dxomark by real people also..so dxomark..whatever hhh

It is just like that, and if manu... moreThere's absolutely no chance that the S21 Ultra performs worse in the camera department than its predecessor, the staggering support in favour of the newer phone is astounding. It has been indepedently reviewed, tested and scrutinised in every aspect and it's regarded as a massive improvement from the S20 Ultra. Regardless of the fact that it's an iterative upgrade (on paper) or that it has no SD cart slot and lack of accessories in the box, it's still got the best camera on any phone to date. DXOMark are wrong on all grounds.

What's the problem?
It is just like that, and if manufactures want good score then samsung needs to improve according to what they say.
Or samsung may choose to stop submitting their device.

Anything giving above 5x with decent optics to back it up can be considered a good zoom camera on smartphones.

Uhh, let's see..
Find X2 Pro: 5x telephoto lens, zoom "tele" score of 114
Mate 40 Pro: 5x telephoto lens, 121
X50 Pro Plus: 2x + 5x telephoto lenses, 122
I just listed three but I could go on with other examples of phones that do not have 2.5x telephoto lens scoring much higher than iPhone 12 Pro Max.

It's similar to how GSMA and other tech websites moderate their comment sections and suspend trolling users, there's nothing wrong with that.

It's a bit strange to see people bashing DxOMark for not carrying out the test in the latest firmware, when it has been implied multiple times in the past that it's the manufacturers' responsibility to ensure DxO receives the unit with the software version that they want to it be tested on.

TheLastOracle, 03 Mar 2021DXOMark's behavior is casting aspersions on their guil... moreDxO already made a 'featured comment' because theres a lot of complaining. Actually their explanation on that make sense. They cover a certain FL level for their test, the same goes to every phone they tested.
On the firmware issue, likely a Samsung's fault. They should well prepared & inform DxO before they made the test. Apple ask to wait for Deep Fusion previously, Huawei gave uncertified firmware in advance previously (which consumer gets later on). Its unfortunate DxO test the bad firmware, but for those many issues, Samsung should fix it in the 1st place. A retest for latest firmware should be fair.
Bottomline is, S21 Ultra bad at intermediate/hybrid zoom. No fusion/Super Res algorithm applied. They didnt use the 108mp properly, just purely function on main sensor. What a waste of a high res camera. They dont use 3x optical as a portrait mode, instead digitally 2x (which what they are worse at, intermediate zoom).
Samsung's camera algorithm & system didnt favour DxO protocol, simple as that. Like it or not, DxO still one of the camera benchmark that people looks forward to, and Samsung should cleverly tackle on how to get high score on DxO.
DxO did put S21 Ultra no. 1 in display ranking segment, where its obviously best at.

Now Dxomark has started to delete posts and put many on blacklist. I think they also write good reviews about themselves! They didn´t want to answer this ( they deleted me) : "Why test 4k/60 when 4k/30 is more common and gives better image quality and less noise in low light "

DxO Mark is definitely cherrypicking what's not that great about the device and overlooking the 3X and 10X dedicated zoom lenses. Same about video where 4K @ 30FPS and Super steady 1080p were omitted
I used to trust DxO when all cameras were single lense, but ever since OEMs decided to add more lenses, DxO has become unreliable; they're just to rigid when it comes to what they want to test.
Just look at that 2.5X ! Isn't that optical zoom only found on a fruit phone? No wonder why other phones with superior zoom capabilities fair worse on that one.
