I wonder how much the price is going to rise. Also I'd rather take a high refresh rate display rather then have OLED. Unless Xiaomi does both. But still nice to see though, just hope it's not 720p.

A bit more than 720p is still poor in 2020, that's the kind of display you get on £100 phones.

Well, it was long awaited and they just had to. Samsung's M series competitors with AMOLED Displays have put a substantial amount of pressure on Xiaomi over the past year or so.

I personally would never go back to LCD and I'm not holding my breath for mini-led or micro-led or whatever. even when it arrives it's going to be expensive af, no doubt about it.

I do want you to know that the only major difference you might see is the sudden contrast of colours and how much "true" the colours look, i might sound weird but in LCD panels the backlight interferes with the actual colours, especially the darker ones. It seems as if each colour is a little bland and brighter than usual. But on AMOLED it will be more realistic.

Not all amoled degrade within 1-2years thats just a misconception. There are many types of amoled panels, quality ones, cheap ones....and nowadays super amoleds are way better in durability and all. The thing is that xiaomi shd be using good led panels from lg or samsung, others are somewhat okayish

                      Is it slim phone?

Very nice, for the last 7 years i have only bought phones with AMOLED screens, much better for my eyes than LCD. I have never had any burn-in on any phone or amoled tablet.

Just like we aren't seeing graphene batteries. It's "too good" and manufacturers want to scam you into buying a new phone every 2 years at max.

This is not the case with an AMOLED screen. With an AMOLED you NEED a higher PPI to get the same effect of an IPS TFT display.
It's the Density of the Pixels (PPI) and the display technology that matters and not the resolution of the display.
BTW, the iPhone 11 has an 828p screen. It has 30% more pixels (1.48M) than a 720p screen (1.15M).

Amoled is a rudimentary technology, something to bridge the LCD transition to micro-LED. Amoled is easily degradable and colors can change over time. You have to avoid statis images and high brightness if you want to keep it for longer than 1-2 years. I personally always avoid amoled. I hope some new technology comes after the LCD, maybe micro-LED, because amoled isn't a true succesor of LED, it's just a temporary emergency plan to improve contrast at the expense of durability.
