so-called high end audio chip are all overrated and 95% of them out there can't compare to a 20-30 dollars wired earphone much less high end wired earphones either in reproducing soundstage bass treble or even loudness as some pretty expensive wireless earphone I tried just ain't loud enough. until the day a real wireless earphones capable of sound quality like those high end wired earphones to me now they are just battery guzzler

From what I perceive, at best it will be something that removes latency and provides better quality audio than today's devices over wireless connections.

I don't see a threat to my LG G8x's Quad DAC audio any time soon.

              Does this cause brain cancer?

Sony still has the headphone jack, but they can't market their phones which is why they don't sell as much

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2021that's because from what you're saying, you are j... moreNormal people totally have 350€ soundcards that they drop another 150€ on them in form of even higher end Op-Amps... I've been a gamer for last 25+ years, mostly FPS games and going after high refresh rate for extra low latency, always had high end soundcards and put the most effort into 3D audio technologies and took advantage of 3D audio to a point I was often accused of wallhacking just because I put audio to such good use. Believe me, if there was any massive delays in audio, I'd sense it. People make it sound like it's always 500ms and above delay...

Again, like I said, I don't know what codecs Windows 10 uses when pairing AidPods 2 to it, but I can't sense any delay what so ever.

Snapdragon Sound? So that's that mean I can finally play Osu! perfectly (like no latency can ruin my hand-eye-ear coordination)? I hope the next THX Panda successor has that feature so I can say goodbye to the headphone jack. Until then, I'll enjoy the Hi-Fi audio and radio with my ATH-M50X and my RoG Phone 2.

you can even see on youtube the latency test done on all wireless bluetooth and how they have delays in receiving anything and everything..

aReefer, 06 Mar 2021Much of this is acedemic when the Android OS itself is limi... moreNothing academic about it, pure lies and snake oil! 44100 Hz 24 bit signal = 150 dB, best dac of today starches 23 bit with SINAD of 123 dB. We need the Open Source to jump in, adapt Opus for BT use and make ASIC RT decoder and you will have far better quality and lower latency.

Much of this is acedemic when the Android OS itself is limited to a 48 KHz sampling rate, so no real Hi-res audio on Android, even over a wire.

Even the highest quality bluetooth headphones don't stack up to decent headphones in quality. You're up against so many things, codecs compatibility, latency, lack of selection. Wired headphones have been at this for many decades. I have no problems with pushing the technology of bluetooth / wireless audio. My problem is forced adoption.

I'll believe it when I see it.
