It is only 3mm wider than the last compact and as it will be they have committed to 21:9 so tall has no relevance to the last device, or else the device will be a 55mm device which will be significantly smaller than any compact and cannot have a flagship processor because of something called physics

Sony as a brand in Japan has lost so many loyal local consumers support on all Sony's products down to near bankruptcy for that region.
From the PS consoles / games, smartphones, etc., Sony's products are decaying at a astonishing market lost in its own backyard.

Good. And stay there. Sony was the most expensive and yet useless phone i ever had. Malfunctioned after 5 month and there was no one to talk to. The honor 8 cost 15% of the sony and lasting longer. Most terrible service From a company ever.

The Xperia 5 is a compact flagship. The people are waiting for the Compact series while it already exists. It doesn't have to have Compact in the name for it to be compact

i guess sony will never release a "compact" moniker anymore as it will be ridiculously small since they are into 21:9... 5 and 5ii are already slim... i even find my 1ii comfortable for one handed operation... comparable experience with my z3... and more hand friendly than my z5 premium... so, personally contented with the current size...
