bench mark has no use when you are seconds ahead in performance.. they should focus on what ppl really needs.. such cage environment with limited functionality is very futile compare to other os specially on wp8 that looks promising....if android mend the imperfection of ios then wp8 complete every thing .. indeed

The battle should using the latest OS, thats way iphone 5 still far from android flagship. But I prefer battle between iphone 5 vs nokia 920 vs xperia v (with jb of course) since sony is the best in optimizing performance with dual core.

So if the chip were to clock in at 1.5 instead of 1 ghz it would out perform the kraits? Not if the kraits where clocking in at 2 ghz..... see how stupid that argument is? The fact is it runs at 1 ghz and does not out perform the krait, it's on par and the quad core exynos is faster.

Nice spec's. But ... how long will it take that an iPhone (or other smartphone) can be connected tot a screen and keyboard and that it will replace a lof of devices. That would be very bad for company's like Dell, Asus, HP and even Apple.

Anonymous, 17 Sep 2012This is what the game is about: PERFORMANCE and not BIG SPE... more"performance" you say...apple releases ONE phone every year...and right now at the RELEASE of iphone 5, android phones like galaxy s3 outperform it (please note that there are A LOT of android running devices that score better than the s3 in quadrant, the dual core kraits for example) so in a year, just before the release of iphone 6, android would have definitely gone a long way ahead, so dont talk about performance...iphone 5 is barely good by now and it will grow outdated in a month, face it, apple fanboy :P

I am confused, everyone is talking about 2 cores 1 ghz vs 4 cores at 1.4ghz... but no one seems to be looking at the bench marks and seeing that the memory bandwidth a big reason for Apple's large improvement in performance. While their processor has improved by 80% their memory improved 150%.

Additionally while an iPhone 5 scores 1601 an S3 scores 1628, but if you were to use JB this jumps to 2052.

Comparing the processor scores suggests unsurprisingly that more cores and higher ghz provides greater performance.

                    integer: iphone 1220 vs 1313 galaxy s3
floaing point: iphone 2051 vs 2355 galaxy s3

What is interesting is what happens in Jelly Bean.

integer: galaxy s3 ICS 1313 vs 1805 galaxy s3 JB
floaing point: iphone galaxy s3 ICS 2051 vs 3163 galaxy s3 JB

45% improvement just from an OS upgrade!

This is what the game is about: PERFORMANCE and not BIG SPEC. Optimization is the rule of the game. The little 'jewel' is ALWAYS giving MORE in performance. BEAUTY AT ITS BEST, EVER, is the iPHONE, A-L-W-A-Y-S.

A wise and informed investment in any product should be about both the comparative and absolute yield of its constituents. No one is interested in 'big and sluggish' aka SGSes.

In a little more time, the EVER dependable NOKIA should emphatically remain in its TOP SPOT, insha Allah.

That sure is impressive considering it is on par with the krait cores, but is the a6 a dual core or a quad core processor? Coz if it is a dual core, that would've been impressive. :)

It does not matter to a common person how many cores a cell phone has... what matters is the phone performance & features. No doubt, the tech may be good, but If I'm getting better features and similar performance from a quad core phone, then why should I buy the dual core phone?
