    Yuri84, 10 Mar 2021Low end phone gets 3.5mm jack, high-end phone doesn't.... moreLow end = non-existent profits, just marketshare

Expensive phones = much more money earned

That is why they cut some stuff from the expensive phones, but keep on cheap ones.

Anything on the OS updates. If oneplus wants ti hit big leagues, it needs to start giving 3 years of O.S updates and atleast 4 years of continuous security updates.

Yuri84, 11 Mar 2021Shure 215 beats the crap out of them, then eats them for br... moreI usually use my OnePlus USB C headphones for watching movies/shows/series, making calls/video calls, and playing video games.
So charging while using headphones have rarely been a problem to me, but if I end up in that situation, I have the Oppo Enco W51 TWS headphones with ANC.
I'm not an audiophile anyway so, can't really notice the sound quality difference.
You're totally right about the jack 3.5 mm tip being able to do 360° rotations, while USB C is just 2 ways.
Honestly, even when I was using the jack 3.5 mm, I wasn't rotating the tip, what if by doing that it damages the contact pins of the phone and the tip?

Shadocx, 11 Mar 2021USB C headphones: existShure 215 beats the crap out of them, then eats them for breakfast.
Better in both sound quality AND price.

Oh, and can have its cable replaced.

And can have that cable ROTATE inside the jack! Can you imagine USB-C rotating? It helps with longevity.

Oh, and Shure offer(ed) USB-C cable for its headphones! It went out of sale rather quickly, costing as much as the headphones themselves ($100) and producing crappy sound and breaking in a few months. I'd say they made the right decision.

From what I've seen, USB-C headphones, while they do exist, are a really, really niche product. Crap sound, high price, non-replaceable cable. And most headphones don't have USB-C cable because it requires a separate DAC in the most cases.

Oh, and how do I charge a phone when USB-C is occupied with headphones?

nanagdad, 10 Mar 2021LTPO Super AMOLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, HDR10+, 800 nits (typ)... moreThat wouldn't surprise me if the Oppo Find X3 Pro and OnePlus 9 Pro share the same display, main and ultra wide angle cameras.

Low end phone gets 3.5mm jack, high-end phone doesn't... where's logic in that?
What's next? No charging port to force you to buy a wireless charger on top of wireless headphones? And then what, wireless camera accessory? Maybe wireless screen? Wireless battery? Wireless speakers? Wireless volume control? Wireless microphone?

Because they can sell more parts for the same device at ever-inflating prices? Making repairs more and more expensive?

LTPO Super AMOLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, HDR10+, 800 nits (typ), 1200 nits (peak) - display for Oppo Find X3 pro. Oneplus 9 pro has tough competition. I will definitely consider the two. Curious to see also the display for OnePlus 9 pro if it will have LTPO too. Interesting times bois. 😁

7x, 10 Mar 2021Yes, they are indeed using hassleblad lens and Sony's ... moreThe lenses are not Hasselbad as you understand it, only a filter is applied to the optics, but the glass is not Hasselbad. It's like Zeiss on Vivo X60 pro+ and Huawei with Leica.

7x, 10 Mar 2021Yes, they are indeed using hassleblad lens and Sony's ... moreThe bigger the better is not true. Pixel and iphone stick to 12mp lens but rely on top computational algorithms. S21 ultra with its 108mp lens doesn't do much better due to average post process. Bigger lens brings more data's to process, if you don't know what to do with it it's useless. Oneplus hardware is not the problem, they struggle with computational. For that reason gcam are popular to improve native cam apps.

Oh hell no release after release they're becoming less "OnePlus". Flagship killer(s) now? Becoming yet another Samsung with Pro Ultra Max blah blah?
This isn't what the brand started out as. Guess this is why OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei quit. After Nord and one-to-one Airpod copy OnePlus Buds, OnePlus has lost its originality. Period. This feels like "the social anxious genius nerd in the class bowing down to peer pressure to become yet another student blending into the crowd. His genius & originality faded away".

Hassleblad is also supporting them in using better image processing and a better camera software. For a good photography on phones you'll need a good sensor, a good lens (the bigger the better) and most importantly a good software.
