The reason I left Xiaomi. If you buy a new phone don't update it or better still install a custom ROM. Luckily for oneplus you can easily unlock the bootloader nowonder they're popular not great, unlike Samsung you cannot unlock & Xiaomi makes you wait for approval if not approved they deliberately give you an error

Just buy a phone with easy bootloader unlocking & good hardware then install a custom ROM & Kernel to avoid planned obsolescence. All OEMs do it. I will buy OnePlus 9 pro & delete oxygen is 11. Interested more in LTPO display hoping it will be there & the new oneplus fast charging implementation like in 8t. With they improved more in cooling system tech as processors are getting too powerful, don't know if newer snapdragon processors can be under-clocked nowadays

PETEr Pan: "Ultra-wide photography literally broadens your horizons. Shouldn’t it also keep them true?" He has discovered the ultra wide! Magnificent! Good boy! A NEW HORIZON! Look like a sentence that will make history for all mankind ;D. If the lines of the building are straight like that, it's because it's a software correction, just like editing the image with PhotoShop. You haven't discovered anything new. Maybe have the software than any other brands can copy it. It´s nothing of the camera. Physically it´s an amorphous lens what make the wide images. And will continue like this, with distortions and barrel effects, So it's not the "superb cameras" of the new phone, but simply image processing as the Google Pixel does in AI with its photos based on older Sony sensors.

But still using the same camera app and handling? Nah. One does simply not buy oneplus for the camera! Bring back the real oneplus!

I dumped them when they left Oneplus 5/T for dead, promised an update Android 10 and took almost all year with no update. Plus, when they released it, it came with bugs and they deleted features we already had in Android 9 like video EIS. So no credibility. Will never buy Oneplus again.

Happy to see two new custom made sensors from Sony, specially IMX789 as IMX689 was really good in 8 Pro, wonder what size IMX789 will be, hopefully 1/1.2+" or even bigger.
Also ultrawide IMX766 sensor size 1/1.56" is a great upgrade from IMX586 1/2.0", hope it will still be able to do macro shots and focus via ultrawide as before and hopefully in even better quality.
But honestly really hoped for better telephoto lens, (was not expecting periscope, since I don't see OnePlus going for one till iPhones do). Anyway it is kind of disappointing to see the same old 8MP telephoto sensor which was used since 7 Pro.
and well 2MP depth/color sensor, not much to comment on that, yet happy to see laser focus present on 9 Pro.
Intrigued to see what IMX789 will bring with triple ISP from SD 888, photography and video wise. And well Hasselblad will be just color balance and pro mode tune, no better optics as with Zeiss or Leica, but maybe next year will see optics and something more from Hasselblad.

I do not understand why some complain about what OnePlus has done lately.
Phones are much better than the ones they used to make.
Of course they would become more expensive.
Older devices had oled screen much inferior to those used by samsung flagships, even compared to their midranges. Bad cameras sensors like 1/3", no IP rating, no stereo speakers.
Now they buy expensive sensors, expensive screen, there is IP68 for Pro, stereo speakers, fastest RAM, fastest storage.

Nick Tegrataker, 10 Mar 2021The barrel distortion on the left sample gives you an illus... moreThe only chips from Qualcomm capable of 8K are 865/865/870/888. So you cant have 8K out of from phones powered by 855/855+.
120mm is not enough for moon shots, moon would still be small. Unlike what those photos show. You need at least 300mm.
My friend from China told me. He also said to never believe those statements like " 250.000 devices sold online in less than 1 min."

nanagdad, 10 Mar 2021Hopefully OnePlus 9 series there won't be green tint o... moreIt Oled problem and not OnePlus, it happens with tons of devices and brands, it happened with S20 Ultra, ton of reports on iPhone 12 line and 12 Pro Max even when you paid way above 1000$. Just for some reason it was blown out of proportion just for OnePlus and certain sheeps believes that it is only OnePlus problem. Honestly...

The same sensor from the Oppo Reno5 Pro+'s main camera, but in an ultrawide form. Looks intriguing.

I had high hopes for the new OnePlus range, but I see that this brand only specialises in the marketing of selling its products with a big Hyper (sellers of smoke). They offer phones with big hardware failures for example in their screens that seem to be made with hammer blows, as previous comments have already said here. Very bad quality. Big Hyper and advertising to hook and create false expectations. I am fed up with this PETEr Pan of Neverland and the whole bunch of unpresentable people of this brand. I already bought a OnePlus that I had to return with a horrible and bad education customer treatment by the after sales support of this brand: lies and wasting your time so that the return period runs out.

Barry Egan, 10 Mar 2021I'm pretty damn sure that, there will be 2 useless cam... moreThe OnePlus 9 will have triple camera: 48 MP main+50 MP ultra wide+2 MP depth.
Pro model is quad camera: 48 MP main+50 MP ultra wide+8 MP telephoto+2 MP depth.
So only one useless sensor for each phone, I guess.
Now that I think of it, the 9E being the cheapest may have two useless sensor and a 8 MP ultra wide angle like other cheap phones out there.
The most disappointing phones to me are the Redmi K40 Pro and Realme GT, they have 8 MP ultra wide cameras on a phone with SD 888...
