Watch the 4k youtube video and then download the raw 4k footage from the provided mediafire links. The most noticeable artefacts are in the lower part of the screen representing the Sony Xperia version: the 4k youtube version shows terrible compression artefacts around the shadow of the cameraman, but the raw 4k version is smooth as silk and the soft shadows look gorgeous.
          If that doesn't convince you, think of it this way: the download size for the 4k youtube version is around 600MiB, the download size for the raw 4k video is 1.5GiB. So essentially anything you watch on youtube is one third the quality you get from the camera.

          As with the general question of watching 4k on a 1080p monitor, yes, there is difference, there are comparisons of video between prosumer 1080p cameras and mobile 4k cameras and the 4k mobile version downscaled to 1080 looks better because it has sharper edges. But of course the difference is more notable on a 4k screen, and as other say, really good 1080p cameras are still much better than crappy 4k ones.

I've uploaded 1080p videos which later look horrible in the youtube version. And the same happens with 4k video.

            Having said that, it is very unlikely youtube will increase the quality of the video streams, which means 1080p video will always look as horrible as it looks now. So in a way, watching a 4k poorly compressed video stream on a 1080p monitor may look more pleasant if the video doesn't have much movement. When the video is still, a 4k low bandwidth video will be able to provide a more detailed picture which scaled down will look better than a low bandwidth 1080p video. But if you are looking at action footage, 4k youtube is only going to bring you higher visual artefacts.

                          8,294,400 / 3,686,400 = 2.25

                          4K is 225% of the resolution of 1440p, or 125% higher resolution. IDK where you got 17% from. Sure, I calculated the resolutions for a 16x9 display, but I doubt having a slightly wider screen will reduce the resolution difference to anywhere near only 17%.

                          I'm not saying 4K is useless, but at such a small display size where it's already hard to discern the individual pixels at 1440p, it's usefulness is limited. But as long as the hardware handles it just fine, why not I guess.

Next time read and try to remember ca... more2K resolution is 2560 pixels horizontally and 1440 pixels vertically, compared to the 1920 x 1080 pixels from Full-HD Resolution. It is referred to as QHD because it has 4 times the pixels as 720p. These added pixels allow for a wider image and more detailed recording. When you zoom in on a 2K video, it will retain more clarity compared to a 1080p video.


                            2160p is useless vs 1080p. Lmfao....

This is because 4K TVs have four times as many pixels as 1080p TVs. However, 1080p TVs are much cheaper and offer a better selection of content.

                              1. Resolution
                              Since 4K TVs have so many more pixels than 1080p TVs, you will be able to see more details, the colors will be more vivid, and blacks will be deeper. However, you won’t notice a difference unless you have a large TV, and you are sitting close enough to the screen.

                                  I have compared the xz premium with the moto z, similar sized screen, 4k vs 2k, i really didnt see any difference in 4k videos. If i try to go 1 inch close sure i can make it out, but whats the use of that. Even the moto z with pentile oled was sharper than my 1080 lcd device, again same display size. 1080 pentile oled though i can easily make out the differences between it and 1080 lcd at normal viewing distance, about 7 inches.

                                  Sure, this wont go anywhere, if you can see the difference i really cant say anything.
