Just because they're 2 and 1 years old flaghsips respectively doesn't mean they suck now, they perform just as well as they did.

Even the 780G is numbered as a mid range chipset, nothing about its antutu 8 Score of over 500000 is mid range, Who creates what sector it falls into?, Technically it seems more of a downgraded 888.
It's significantly ahead of the 768G and slightly ahead of the 860 as well, that means the 860/870 are no longer flagship chipsets, correct?
Same story with the Exynos 1080, it simply is not a direct upgrade over the 980, the Exynos 1080 presses way above general mid-range standards including the the 780G from anything currently at the top of the mid-range, namely the Dimensity 820/1000C/1000L.
I would really love to know the unit cost for the 780G vs 860 vs 870, but then is 870 still coming as a package with an external modem? I'm assuming the 860 like the 855 can be had as a stand alone LTE SoC or with an external modem?
The Exynos 1080 easily is an overall improvement from the Exynos 990 nevermind the 2100.
Is it simply nerd consumers and the SoC industry who wants people to think that the 780G is anything but flagships, especially when it now has an Antutu north of the 860 chipset.

After Exynos 2100 looses about 25% of his framerate, we can doubt.
That was the same with Dimensity 1000+ and Exynos 990, 990 was better on paper, better on benchmarks...but after only 7 minutes, look at the previous video! I don't invent anything!

Look at specific GPU's score :
S21 managed to stay cool but GPU's score falls from 250.000 to 185.000...on Exynos 2100
With the same test, on Realme X7 Pro with Dimensity 1000+ GPU's score starts only with 200.000pts but at the end is still 193.000pts! (True, K30 Ultra's behavior isn't as good with the same soc)

Adreno 640 is nearly twice more powerfull...

Plus memory bandwidth is 2x16bits on 780G when it's 4x16bits on 855/855+/860...memory bandwidth is very important for GPU...

Dimensity 1000+ (TSMC 7nm 9 cores Mali G77) vs Exynos 990 (Samsung 7nm 11 cores Mali G77)
And the winner is...Dimensity 1000+ with 2 less cores! Better framerate, more stable! After 7 minutes Exynos 990 throttles!
Well done Samsung!
I even wouldn't be surprise if Dimensity 1200 beats Exynos 2100 in real game!

Not better than TSMC's 7nm!
Even with tiny gain over 7nm, TSMC's 6nm will be better than Samsung's 5nm.
But with lower frequency, smaller GPU, 780 will probably be stable and efficient...and far in term of performances from D1200 or even D1000+

Samsung is the main reason for overheating of 888 and 2200.
Qualcomm could have choosen tsmc if they have enough capacity from 5nm tsmc.

It is the reason why Apple is so aggressive with throttling the cpu.
