Spotify updates its desktop app to look more like the mobile version

really bad the update, there is no possibility to listen to the music that I select from my artists. You cannot go back. It is a lack of respect for users not to give us the possibility to go back or even ask us if we want to test the update first. Paying users must cancel our accounts and switch to freemium as a protest.

They messed up pretty mad for their Desktop users.
As I developer I understand maintainability concerns. But why not release it until after you replace all the features you took out, and actually take in some user feedback on the design? Its lazy to just hoist the only 4 comments in favor of the changes to the top of the feedback forums, then ignore the 800+ other comments:

I quite liked Spotify the way it used to be on my computer. It was comforting and familiar, and this update has just about ruined my experience! When I look up an artist I can no longer see a great long list of their songs in chronological order, just a list of the albums. I loved the old look, and I can't stand the new one. I hope that many other people feel the same way, because I miss it like crazy and want it back!!

When you're on the artist's page, scroll down to the bottom and click on the "about" section. A pop up should come up with the info and the stats for the top listening cities will be on the left side of the pop up.

Does anyone know how to get the new update; my Spotify is stuck on the old one. I have tried restarting and re-downloading the app but neither has worked?

Unfortunately new spotify update on desktop app doesn't provide my favourite feature of Spotify the top city-listeners stats of an artist. Is there any way how I can roll back to a previous version?

I agree with one of the anonymous commenters,, why did they remove the feature that shows all songs on an artist page? now we have to click each album to see songs, and it only shows one album at a time :/ this is the one feature i think should come back, plus the overal visual change is bad

Can't view all songs from an artist from top to bottom anymore, you have to select a certain album to go into it? Not a fan of this at all.

Not a fan of the change. I preferred having the similar artists that showed up whenever I searched for a particular artist. Made it easier to create playlists, but now you'll have to look up individual artists. I preferred the text-only list of songs on my playlist, but now with the images included, I have to scroll more to browse through my list. Small detail, but just adding images isn't making me a fan. I prefer just a practical, user-friendly method than just adding bells and whistles for the sake of just changing the look. Who cares what it looks like. I just want to use the app for music, not visuals.
