Spotify updates its desktop app to look more like the mobile version

Devastated that you can't see individual song's play counts. That was my favourite feature of Spotify (other than music itself). The UI is also butt ugly.

I don't know but with the new update, I can no longer see the cities/countries that listen to a particular artist. I also can't see the number of times a song has been played anymore. Yes, the new look of the UI is way cleaner, but the features that are now gone makes me disappointed.

Absolute garbage. You can no longer see all of an artist's songs at once and can only see one album at a time...

Some things I find important on desktop that aren't on mobile/ web player: The play counts on every song and the friends activity. Will they keep it or toss it in this update?

I will use it later and see the difference. I hope they made it better and not made it worst :'(
A couple of months back, Amazon Music made their website look more like a mobile version, and it is so shit. OMG!
It looks good, but the desktop app and website has so much area to work with. They removed many useful features which were user-friendly and easy to access anytime. Now, it involved many clicks to navigate and perform basic things. And it's filled with random bugs. For me, Amazon music is a pure disappointment. I invested so many years building my playlists.

The only reason I use Spotify on PC is so that I can see the date on which the songs are added to a playlist. I think that feature's removed. Does anyone have any idea if it's going to be back? Friend activity is also not updating properly. Is it supposed to be that way or is there something I can do to get it back to normal? Thanks.

so, you still cannot use a task bar when the platform is full size while on a desk top device? how stupid. at least with you tube you can.

This will invite mixed opinions. Hopefully they give an option of selecting which style the user prefers; somewhat similar to how Gmail gives the option to select the view of emails

UX/UI designers failed on this one within the artist pages. Complete garbage. Why do I have to click into each album to view the track list? Then once I play through an album, I have to go back, click the next album and start the music again. I know I'm probably not the typical user, but seems they didn't think it through and they are forcing playlist creation. Feels like they went back to old school web design mentality. Too many clicks...took a step or two backwards in my opinion. No beef with most of the other updates...looks nice.
