Price in us dollar

Wongwatt, 27 Mar 2021Compact? Compact? AhahahahahahahahaBy compact I mean thickness. I don't talk about overall phone size because who would like to play games on 5 inch screen.

Shadocx, 26 Mar 2021Might as well get the normal ROG Phone 5 with it's fan... moreYou are missing the point. The ROG ultimate edition is meant and designed with enthusiast gamers in mind. These guys aren't interested in S21 Ultra or iPhone 12 pro Max, both of which are heavily over priced imo.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2021ever heard of practicality buddy? buy a 5g phone for $50... morepracticality depends on what you do with it... it doesn't matter what you actually spend if you are taking advantage of it.
For instance, in 2016 I bought a Surface Book for $2300 and it was my most expensive laptop purchase ever... but I did it for the practicality of using it as a portable laptop, tablet, "workstation", gaming machine, etc... and it paid itself within a single month of doing a design project. The tablet mode allowed me to sketch and conceptualize the design, then the full device allowed me to work on 3D software to make a detail design and finally the dGPU helped with image and video renderings of the results.

It's been over 4 years since that and my Surface Book is still my main device until I upgrade to the same setup that has worked for me all this time. It was expensive but it was completely worth it. You can argue that I could have done the same with cheaper hardware but there would have been compromises (whether by portability, display quality, battery life. etc.) and my time with it would have been different, probably not as enjoyable.

The same can be said about the recent $800 phone that I got to replace my old $400 phone from early 2017. It has almost the perfect specifications for what I do with my devices, and while a cheaper 300~400$ phone can do almost everything mine can, it will still fall shorts on several features that will make my life easier and more enjoyable.

A Pixel 4a can do about 70% of what I enjoy with my Xperia 5 II, but that extra 30% is enough for me to pay double the price. I love the smooth 120Hz display, it's got better battery life, microSD card, dual SIM if I ever need it, balanced front facing stereo speakers, water resistance (which I have been using since 2012 in all my phones)... So everything else that the Pixel 4a can also do and sometimes do better (AI photos), is just part of what I wanted from my phones.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2021ever heard of practicality buddy? buy a 5g phone for $50... moreWell it's their money. Whether they want to spend thousands of Euros on a smartphone, or PC, or other stuff, it's their call. There's not always practicality to everything. You can buy a phone with midrange processor, average build, a decent display and Camera, and your life wouldn't change a bit. It's just about luxury of getting the things you like, and if that makes people happy, let them be. There's no comparison of a gaming PC with a gaming phone, but are for different purpose and target audience, no matter the price difference.

And the ROG Phone 5 doesn't cost that much everywhere. It starts at €572 for base variant and goes max to €922 for the Ultimate version (18gb, 512 GB), in India.

buy a 5g phone for $500, a flagship killer, enough to do 5g for daily living, and half of the money will go to the pc and monitor, thus having a much more practical and better setup than buying a $1000 phone.

people here on gsmarena are too sarcastic enough, that they actually waste $1000 on phones that have no chargers on boxes, or phones that are for gaming.

              spoiled manchildren, i should say.
arguing about why phones should be more expensive with more specs, complaining about smartphone cameras not being close enough to a dslr.

wasting thousands of euros/dollars on phones. replace it later on with another thousand euro/dollar phone after that.

why don't you give it to the poor instead?
the spoiled manchildren of gsmarena. great.

The Find X3 Pro is a great example dropping from 512gb to 256gb and Samsung no longer offer 1tb phones, even the 512gb versions are extremely hard to get hold of at the moment - it becomes more and more important as SD card support disappears from top phones.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2021Sealed battery but no IP68 rating? What BS is this?Battery is sealed to maintain compact size. IP68 is BS because your device won't be repaired under warranty if liquid damaged.

Jay, 27 Mar 20215g should exist...it's faster than wired.....Theoretically 5g can go over 1gbps, but practically, we all know it's not going to once it has a wider rollout. On the other hand, fiber optics, having a rated speed of 10gbps, will reach 10gbps, giving that your hardware can handle that speed.
