Did i say the device wasnt a copy? The article itself mentioned the design layout was originally seen in the Sharp Aquos Crystal.
What i said is that it made an impression that they werent just a copycat but can be innovators - because eventhough they copied the physical design of the sharp phone, they introduced a lot of new tech in the Mix phone - it was even supposed to be just a concept phone to be sold mainly in china. However because of its strikingly better design than the Aquos Crystal it made the news and received a few recognitions for it. I bet you didnt even know the Sharp Aquos Crystal even existed before the Mix, because Sharp hasnt even marketed their phones outside Japan (and maybe a few countries)

The original Mi Mix was nothing short of phenomenal. Today is such a big day for them.

I just bought a used mi mix and replaced its battery so it feels new again. Installed android 11 custom rom. Everything is smooth. Love the slim bezels big screen.
Except the cpu temp is going crazy jumping from 40 to 70+ degrees celcius sometimes without me doing much.
I'll probably root this andtry to underclock the cpu.
Hopefully they remake this with no chin this time

Xiaomi did the very same thing with mix what's apple have done so far copying ideas from others and getting credit for it.

This was the first Xiaomi phone that has made an impression that company is not just a copycat anymore but can be an innovator. It looked so different and modern that after they released it a lot of other companies adopted the full almost bezelless screen. I was desperate to get my hands on this thing and cant find them anywhere (at least where Im at) until more than 6 months after it was released, and the small chinese stores sold them at a steep price. I later got the Mix2 instead but that didnt feel as innovative as the first Mix

I had a mi mix 2. The ceramic back was lovely, much nicer to hold and better looking than any glass-back phone.

- and back in the day you must feel so dumb to not have a cut out for the selfies camera ON YOUR SCREEN
- what is that? a single main camera??? how tf people can live with that? now a day whenever I take a picture I feel a surge of supremacy to ignore 3 other side camera and only use the main camera.
- can't imagine if they sell that crap with nowadays spec smh I would be the last on earth to put my hand on those dirty phone without consumerlism ideology.
