Xiaomi has done or again this year....Just take my money.... Won't be bothering with overpriced Exynos based S21 Ultra or the other BBK phones which kinda misses out in certain areas...

Everything about this device screams "ULTRA".
Only device IMO that feels worthy of the above 1000$ price tag. Rest are all overpriced.

Xiaomi better release this worldwide unlike last year. Either ways.. I'll be getting my hands on it, no matter how much the import costs.

hmm, 29 Mar 2021Cause the phone is made for people who need best camera and... moreWhat else could they complain about otherwise? But they forget that even their favorite brands don't have SD cards

If it has earned an Hi-Fi badge probably there will be a dedicated DSP, a high-grade Cirrus Logic, ESS or Asahi-Kasei. And then some sort of analogic amplifier. Other well-regarded jack-carrying phones just come with the vanilla DSP provided with Qualcomm SoCs (and minimum AMP). I think it is a wrong assumption that lack of a jack means lack of audio capabilities. You can solve the lack of a jack output with a 'silly' adaptor (just carries analogic signals). The lack of appropriate audio hardware means you need a bulky DAC dongle (that you feed with an USB digital entry, that only few music apps can provide or you are re-digitizing an already low-fi signal).

Or... it just earned the badge thanks to Snapdragon 888 dedicated DSP (Aqstic) being able to tick the right marks. I really don't know the specifics about Qualcomm DSP on the new SoC, but in the past, that alone was not enough to get hi-fi certified.

On the other hand. Since Android 10, every phone with USB3.1 is capable of streaming video over USB. That is, all phones are dockable Dex-style... it is only required to have a "modern" version of USB. This cell phone, according to gsmarena's spec page, is only capable of version 2.0 of the standard, which is now 20 years old. Come on!

20MP 1/3.4" front cam and people here still complain.
I wonder why same people did not complain about using 5-7MP two years ago on other brands.

don't worry, 1.5µm/3.0µm pixels (1" IMX800) are coming soon on the Huawei P50 phones

Xiaomi should have gone all out and use a terrific selfie camera (for video calls) and also maybe include MicroSD card support and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It would have been the total package.

It will never change. Because money comes back to Samsung in the end, through Semicon selling exynos.

Really appreciate Xiaomi's effort to make MI11 Ultra global. I was annoyed with how Samsung treats Europe & South Asia like 3rd grade regions by shipping their Exynos versions. If they are so fond of their in house shitty processors, let them sell it in their country first..

All these innovations and that price tag and it STILL records @1080p on selfie camera. It's 2021, Xiaomi!

I don'... moreCause the phone is made for people who need best camera and want to have a flagship features too. These people who can spend 1200 on a phone probably already use wireless headphones anyways. And SD cards are not needed when you have like 256GB storage on your phone and can have a version with 512GB. There is no need for sd cards for the phone as the storage wont be ever a issue that you need to expand it.
