I wonder how you came to this conclusion. Never owned a oneplus phone, never was a fan of anything, but I won't buy a phone which combines all of the typical moderns phone's flaws: rounded screen corners, holes, glass back panel.

You can get up to 80% of the initial price for a 1 year old iphone in good condition. You will never get that price for any of the 1 year old Android phones (especially Samsung phones, who decrease the most in the shortest period of time).

I've got the 9 Pro and I know it's going to last me at least 3 years. No sir, you are the wealthy one.

OnePlus are trying to move into the market vacated by the likes of Huawei, Sony, LG, Motorola, etc, if you want to buy an Android device but not a Samsung they really are the only choice. Unfortunately that probably means leaving most of their fan base behind, although I'm perfectly happy with my Nord which I bought to replace my OP3.

That's because are the biggest phone companies out there and they are investing the most money in software development.
If software is not that important and you want the best features for price (that means the best hardware for the price), just go with a Xiaomi or Realme.

The reason is that when I use those handsets which are high quality and fast enough for me, I have the opportunity to replace them next year with a bit more money.
As the first and last customer of OnePlus handset is the one who bought it first time, Next year, instead of buy latest tech inside a brand new gadget by replacing one year old handset + additional 400USD, you must pay 1,000USD which is high enough that I prefer not to have the handset regarding this price tag and market acceptability.

Just wanted to say that Samsung M30S(Oct 2019) received Android 11 faster than Oneplus 7 Pro(May 2019).

As a oneplus 3T user (4 years old phone now) im disappointed in oneplus.I expected more from the new 9 series. For this much money i'd rather buy a samsung or iphone,even through i hate them,and choose o+ back in the day too because of it. They offer way more for that price compared to this series now.Wanted to buy the 9 pro, but i really cant see any reason to choose this over s21 ultra or iphone 12pro,no matter how much i like the oxygene os and the slider button o its side.Hell i might even go as far and say asus or xiaomi is better with the "flagship" phones now.

And it's easy to see why something like this is happening. Companies like Xiaomi or Realme are offering better deals.
Another explanation could be that OnePlus started out like a "flagship killer", established a nice fanbase and then increased the prices gradually for more profits. But, their phones didn't went all the way up with the prices too.
Also, people wanting and willing to pay big money for their phones, already have a specific company in their minds (iphone users will continue to buy iphones, Samsung users will continue to buy Samsung phones). Just few unhappy customers could ultimately change brands and end up with an expensive OnePlus. Otherwise, they will buy expensive phones from the already established players. Or go to Xiaomi or Realme better deals instead.
I am afraid OnePlus will just end up like Sony. Bought only by few enthusiasts or fanboys.

Most previous OnePlus users are angry because of the price hikes but now that they've pulled into the mainstream it's not that important anymore to OnePlus. The price killer is no more, see Redmi, Realme or Poco if you want extreme value for money.

I don't mind switching to mainstream. But Oneplus, just like Oppo, is an bad deal. For an $1000 phone, you don't have anything different, cool, innovative to show. And all parts of the phone we have seen this before. The cameras is bad, i mean without the hasselblad, maybe the price of each phone can be $100 lower. Oppo Find X3 Pro dissapoints me this year. Oneplus 9 Pro is an good phone, but S21 Ultra is the same price in my country, which makes it an bad deal
