I believe that Motorola should go back to making walkie-talkies. I think that they hit it lucky with the RAZR but then, their models began to lose their functionality and looks. Although I believe that Sony Ericsson is a much better company for my mobile phone needs, I think that all Motorola Brand fans should switch to a company with a little more class. As you can clearly see, the roadmap for their products will just disappoint anyone who is eagerly awaiting their new handsets.

what is wrong with moto?, well i'll start with the positive.....firsly the motorazr2 which i have is amazing i mean the level of improvement moto made from the original razr is just breath taking and i've had the razr for around 9 months and when i first got it i was like yea finally moto are waking up......but? after 9 months of waiting and a disappointment at the World Congres.....this is what moto come up with......ok the last two devices look amazing!!!! and i agree the Linux OS in the motorazr2 is slick but little 3rd party app support but why is moto making dumb useless models.....theres no time for that man just get out slick devices like the last 2 phones......come on moto

              hi nicksti! How's it goin?

For me, the Linux OS is between an operating system of a non-smartphone and a true smartphone. It may have little 3rd party app support but its stability makes it a worthwile alternative to costlier phones with Windows and Symbian OS.

After owning an E2 and playing with an A1200 and E6 I am not sure about this linux OS. It really is does not make the phone a true smartphone when it comes down to installing apps. Java apps do not count.

At last, you all got a taste of what's Moto been up to lately. To everyone who says Motorola phones are crap and junk, consider yourselves warned. This is not the same old RAZR-glorifying Motorola we used to know, it is now in the process of taking back its lost share from the likes of other mobile handset tycoons.

The well-known buggy P2k OS phones of Moto are now being dealt with and are now replaced with Linux and UIQ OS handsets. The RAZR-esque style is now being replaced by Moto's new ROKR E8, a haptics keyboard music phone. Those who say that Moto's UI sucks never really used a Linux or UIQ phone yet like the MING A1200 and RIZR Z8.

The good side of Motorola nowadays is its partnership with Kodak, the world's leader in imaging technology. It has the know-how to make camera phones better by increasing processing performance rather than just adding the megapixels like the other phone brands. Size isn't equal to quality.

This is just roadmap for China, there are missing few phones that are coming to Europe and US later this year...

This line up would have been really interesting about 1 year ago. Except to die hard motorolites, these new products won't produce the necessary interest required to dig themselves out of the mess they're in. With the likes of LG, Samsung, in addition to the great devices from SE and Nokia, They're pretty much doomed. Even the iphone clone companies from China like the CECT are producing more interesting products than moto. The title of the article should be modified to '2008: Motorola Roadmap to Failure'.

GSM Arena have got some names confused, the music one they are calling E10 is Texel - it is UIQ phone, 3MP, 3.5mm jack, wifi, touch sensitive controls
ZN5 is XPIXL, it is 2.5G LJ phone. Alot has already been written and this is a good product. It's got Kodak branding.
                            The A1600 has SIRFSTAR III
The A1800 should have an extra trick up it's sleeve if I remember rightly - I haven't played with it - but it should have touch/gesture on the inside cover. I may be wrong on this last one but that is what I remember being told.

Not a single 3G phone. Seems Motorola is putting all its eggs in the Chinese and U.S market. The phones may look nice but the pacakage as a whole is weak vs other phone manfacturers. To make matters worst, the price to functions ratio is way too steep.

FACT, Linux is not a company. The highly successful iphone runs on Mac OS, which is a derivative of UNIX just like Linux is a derivative of UNIX, except that it is open source. which means more control is in the hand of MOTO the way they want to use it. I am disappointed that the upgrade to the A1200 did not have a bigger screen. Even Nokia realized this trend by stretching the screen of the original N95 from 2.6 to 2.8 on the newer N95 8Gb. Pls larger screen MOTO.

They r doing their best but still have to do some efforts concerning network coverage, compare to others "big marks" Motorola has alwas low coverage than other. they should work to performin this way.//bmk

I agree that motorola should change their activity and stop producing mobile phones.
their new phones are out of date in technology and with stupid design.
that is because they are trying to broke the monopoly of microsoft and other successful companies by depending on other new companies like lunix and others.

ived tried a moto fone before E1 and its goodsound is crisp
but the UI is not good, yah i agree they should improve thier
OS aswell as thier market strategy.

This is definitely a waste of natural resources trying to create more phones. Moto, go green and stop producing anymore crap that is going to end up in the incinerators. Accept the fact " bye bye moto "...
