Anonymous, 06 Apr 2021You will miss less competition will be bad for customers ... moreThere is already competition and innovation.
LG simply has been replaced by other brands.
Back in the day, it was between LG, Samsung and HTC... Sony being the side-©hick.
These days it is Samsung, Mi, Huawei, Oppo, etc.

I purchased V20 in March 2017 and exchanged with V30+ in May 2018. Secondary display in V20 and Hi-Fi DAC in V30 is the best, there was no other phone/company can able to do this.

They would heve beat up a competition only if they priced their products fairly, insteed they gave some stupid deals and at the end their phones were also cheap but afer the hype of launch nobody even notice it.

I love LG Smartphone especially its camera. I hope they will change their mind and never give up.

I like their products, I have LG tv and sound bar. And for sure I will prefer this brand if I will buy other appliances.

Keep up the good quality to be always competitive. Thanks and good luck.

This is really sad. Slowly we are losing the pioneers. Htc. Sony in some part. Now lg. Now what remains is either greedy companies like apple or crap cheap companies from china.

This feels like and end of golden era. Its only downhill now.

LG should not give up so easily. They have more market share than Sony and HTC and both have not given up yet so LG should not give up either. Smartphone is a dynamic industry with significant innovations that can be applied to LG's other businesses so even if the smartphone business doesn't make money it still benefits LG's other business. It makes sense for LG to stay in mobile. LG was big during the feature phone era even bigger than Samsung and I fondly remember the chocolate and dare. But the Android era opened a world of competition and it got too crowded. Still they came up with innovative phones and their budget phones offered great value. And they put up a great fight.

I bought V20 just after release and it was a beast of a phone. I love the sound recording. It was like studio recording.
However, as beastly as it was battery probably ruined it. It was more like putting 5 gallons fuel tank in a Lamborghini. Battery would die out before the sunset. But. Since it was a removable battery, I would carry extra batteries to swap out.

IMO they should've focused on mid-range devices as they weren't too popular in the high-end segment, although they had very good devices, it's just that consumers preferred other brands in that top-tier flagship category. Also, a large part of smartphone share lies in the $300-$400 range these days, so an LG phone around that range with a decent chipset could've sold quite well I guess

I'm still using LG Q6+ since it was first launch in Indonesia. Mainly for phone calls and texting via WhatsApp. Battery's life is still good. Too bad it's stucked with Android Oreo.

I remember using that "New Chocolate" which my friend had imported in Pakistan. Many riddiculed that aspect ratio, but if me it was a breeze to use with one hand.

                                      Oh, and RIP Quad-DAC.
