Well the press had a lot to do with LG´s failure. Their critics were horrendous to one of the few truly innovative brands.

A sad day for LG fans and Mobile technology enthusiasts, I hope they take some time and come back with feature-packed phone. I jave been using phones from several manufacturers, but one thing is for sure: LG makes some of the most durable phones. They lack in software, but they are good.

Pfft. I don't think LG deserves a thank you. LG had great, color-accurate displays that are equal or better than Samsung's that they didn't use on all their phones, which is a shame... they had QHD panels on their phones, but downgraded to FHD for no reason. Their cameras were okay, and so was the battery life, but they never got rid of their abysmal launcher.

Such poor quality control from Apple is simply not acceptable.

Of course, LG didn't have either of those skills, so that's why they had to go.

LG haven't understood what the clients want. They should release a LG g2 with 2021 specs, and the problem was solved. @sony @htc : pay attention: in this syle of doing things, YOU ARE NEXT...

LG had it coming. Instead of doing thousand gimmicks, they should have focused on doing basics right. like the s7 edge or any oneplus phone. Good camera (okay, not oneplus), good specs, decent battery and good display. I have used LG g6 and G7. Both were awesome devices. G7 is still running without any issues and if i give my G6 to parents, I am sure that will work fine for them. I do not know why LG do not do marketing.
Somewhat blame goes to reviewers as well. Check their tone when they are talking about Samsung, apple, oneplus and LG, Sony etc. I specifically remember reviewers bashing LG for having colorful icons in settings menu in G6 (cartoonish was the exact word). 2 years later you see it as feature of android OS. LG launched G6 with last year processor (SD 821 instead of SD835) and they butchered it. This year pixel 5 launched with non flagship processor and reviewers trying to convince how it does not matter in real world use. They kept the headphone jack and even improved it with quad DAC. V series phones were multimedia powerhouse with concert mode recording and all.
As a long term user of LG I feel bad for them to shut down. HTC already gone, sony next. Now we either have to choose chinese brands or samsung (in android) which gives exynos shit everywhere except US.

It truly is a shame LG is officially leaving the smartphone business. They were always the most daring and inventive brand. Often when they would introduce a new feature or something out of the box, a year later another brand, even Apple, would copy it. I have used the LG G3, which was great. I loved this phone. But it definitely also had its share of massive issues. All these issues with their phones killed the trust their customers had, which is shame! Using the LG V40 now. Bad camera en mediocre battery, but I still love the phone. Much potential killed by mediocre marketing and reliability. If only...

LG was one of the to release 10bit video recording HDR10 PQ (G7-V35) beside xperia XZ2 (HLG). Not to mention that V30 was the first to implement 10bit SENSOR even SD835 was capable of 10bit video recording but still the only smartphone with true glass lens .
Nowadays V30 with modded Gcam outbest every smartphone out there

Nobody notices any difference ... moreThere are four different panels for the 12 pro Max series.
LG and Samsung both have the better and slightly inferior version of their displays.
Samsung good panel > LG good panel > Samsung Bad panel > LG bad panel.
