Weekly poll: six new Nokia phones are up for consideration

HMD unveiled two phones for each of the X-series (5G), G-series (affordable 4G) and C-series (Android Go Edition).

The poll options are pretty limited. I don't know what to say.

I think these are good phones, but I don't want one as I have a G8x for now and next few years hopefully.
Plus, its again, not as good as Nokia N and E series which were awesomeness in terms of data privacy, usability and battery life and phone size/weight.
This is Android and none of its demerits are absent from these phones, are they?

    in an era where specsheets matters most... nokia vanish... ha ha...
    especially when people see only numbers, like sd480 is a series 400...
    so... it is worse than any sd600, sd700, sd800 series... that was released yearsssss ago...
    the price is just off though, especially when they are targetting "poor" areas...
    never had any nokia under hmd (i have an android fork on nokia x2 dual sim... a collection that i dont know where it is now)...
    their first generation was there, almost got me, i just waited for a descent one... something i can actually use and keep (as a collection, the oldest that i have that is still working is a Nokia N70, i even got a used one, released on 2005, but i bought it on 2009)
    still got me thinking that this phone is "good" for some people...
    i only have one idea, so hmd can disposed this...
    and i based this on their unveiling...
    that is, if they can sell this in wholesale to companies for their employees...
    they also mention, africa, so i guess companies in africa can benefit from this...
    ... that is where i see this will be "disposed" to users...
    wholesale, mass sale, less cost to companies for their employees...
    to compete? the poll says it... i dont even think this poll is necessary... on a tech website, that is...

      Glad to see all of the models getting massacred in the polls, 100% deserved. Over 300 euro for a phone with 4xx chipset and 60Hz IPS screen in Q2 2021? And get outta here with the 'build quality' arguments, none of the previous models proven to be more durable than other cheap chinese phones. HMD is cashing out on people who are nostalgic about Nokia, throwing out mediocre phones for insane prices.

      btw. kudos to GSMarena for wording the poll properly (so that the poll question is 'do you think it is a good phone' and not 'are you going to buy it' like previously)

        These phones have pretty much no interesting feature that sets them apart from other phones, except maybe stock Android. The hardware is quite bad, low end Mediatek or the lowest end SoC Unisoc offers isn't any good for a general purpose phone.
        They should atleast have used the higher performance offerings from these companies at these price points.

The SD480 5G upper SOC of the MOST basic actual Snapdragon series the 4XX, is not even a mid ranger SoC by Qualcomm tier that start with the 6XX with the majority of mid-rangers coming with 7XX series even with the SD870. Which means that their superior brothers are more capable, powerful and offered for the same price and even cheaper by competitors.

          The SD750 5G you mention also has AI gaming and true HDR gaming. SD480 5G lacks of both features and obviously the raw power to manage them.

          And not all is performace. What about features? SD480 5G is limited to 1080p video recording because can't manage higher resolutions so you watch there its limitations. The SD750 5G also support more video codes by hardware. Better image processing with TWO image signal processors:

          SD750 G -> Image Signal Processor:  Qualcomm Spectra™ 355L image signal processor, 14-bit, 2x Image Signal Processor (ISP)
          SD480 5G -> Image Signal Processor: Qualcomm Spectra™ 345 image signal processor, Triple 12-bit ISPs in the SD480 5G.

          Even in the audio department SD750 5G for example includes a Qualcom audio amplifier... the SD450 5G not.

          Add that they are asking 350 euros and you can buy a phone with an SD870 for 300 euros lol. The display even doens't have HDR (SD480 5G limitation) and strengthened glass to have more durability.

          It's a whole. All matters and these phones lacks what competitors offer. The single point of sales are the updates in software. But as we watch today, a lot of competitors offer them and several of them faster updates than HMD delayed ones...

          And we are talking of the best phone released... the X20. Now imagine the X10, G20, G10 and the crappy C20, C10... Which a common denominator for all these phones... All them are a lot overpriced for what they offer.

            There is only 3 reasons to buy a Nokia there days.
            1. Pure Android
            2. Updates
            3. Build quality.

            These 3 are essential to someone wanting to use the phone for businesses and for long term use. Majority of the people don't buy phones for these reasons.

            I use a $60 cheap Chinese brand with Android Go 8.1 on Mediatek 6850. It has problems. But gets my job done.

              Nokia is dead HMD further killed it. RIP NOKIA you're now selling the Market crap phones, weak SoC's infact everything is so weak it's not even funny.

                Buy a Poco F3 instead of the X series.

                    I used the name of a brand that was the King at the time to get similar crap, it disgusts me and it hurts! I hope they give up if they are not going to get something that is really worth it, it does not matter if it does not compete with the top of the market, but that they do something really

                        Its not Nokia...its HMD Global ? Nokia was a company that set standards, showing modern solutions. The build quality was often the best on the market, Nokia phones had very good cameras, sometimes the best like the Nokia 808 Pure View. Nokia was the leader when Symbian was in the market.
                        And unfortunately they never tried Android and passed through the new president S. Elop (who previously worked at Microsoft) to Microsoft's Windows Phone system.
                        For Nokia to come back they would have to keep producing phones and "true" Nokia sold the entire mobile division to Microsoft many years ago.
                        HMD assembles phones from parts available on the market and you can't beat it anyway.
                        Does HMD offer anything that Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi or other manufacturers do not have?
                        It's a bit boring phones, long support is illusory because you can have 5 years of support, but so what? What matters is the quality of the launcher, how much the updates bringing for user.
                        Even Sony gave pure Android and many people are complaining because useful, functional and better applications have disappeared. Album - many people preferred the previous app. And where is the music recognition application from Sony? Hardware is not everything, so apart from the price which cannot be competed, the system is all the time that counts - the quality of the OS/launcher/own apps and unique solutions.

                                        there are others much better options, especially Redmi Note 10
