The X20 sounds like a good workhorse phone if you're in a third world country where warranties tend to suck. I just don't get why they are apparently using simple tempered glass? I'd read that three-year warranty in full before considering it. Naturally, it's an enterprise-focused smartphone, and they probably offer longer warranties for those folks. Which also explains the 5G.

The C20 would be decent as a semi-"burner" smartphone - e.g. to take with you if you're planning on getting wasted, on walks if you live in a dangerous city, or as a "work phone" just for using Whatsapp & Telegram - but at 190 grams, I'd just take a lighter Motorola phone instead.

kanaaka, 11 Apr 2021Of course it is, but it may be comparable to older 6xx seri... moreThe SD675 despite being a 3 years old midranger is still more capable than the SD480 5G.

              https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-675-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-480#benchmarks

A lot better in gaming performance, better audio, support higher display and camera resolutions, better video recording and slow motion framerates, etc. So the SD675 is still a better SoC being 3 years old. Of course that doesn't have 5G but is not fair ask for it, for that matter we have the actual and new mid-range 5G SoCs from Qualcomm a lot better than the lower range SD480 5G.

The lower mid-rage phone from Qualcomm with 5G now is the SD690 5G, below the SD750 5G and both are miles better than the SD480 5G which is expected as those are a superior SoCs from upper tier series. The 4XX are se second lowest tier from Qualcomm, with the SD2XX the lowest and slowest ones.

              https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-690-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-480#benchmarks

Snapdragon 8xx > 7xx > 6xx > 4xx > 2xx With the traditionally 6xx and 7xx being considered the mid-ranged SoCs in performance and price, before and today. With 8xx the flagship SoCs. Premium mid-rangers are those that add extra flagship features lilke flagship cameras, OIS, persiscome ones with good optical zoom, better stereo speakers, IP68, etc. Some of those features.

For the cost of a X20 it lacks of all them. Even not has a strengthened glass, not even HDR display, which is very common today.

Nokia must be aiming for our parents.

Penk2856, 11 Apr 2021It is a lot weaker than 720gOf course it is, but it may be comparable to older 6xx series maybe closer to 675 which is actually not bad at all for daily usage. Im not saying that Nokia specs and price is right, i just pointing that maybe he mentioned that 4xx Snapdragon is not so that bad.

Nokia should do concentrate to successors like 7,8 series... we haven’t heard about new flagships... even Chinese midrangers now have snapdragon 7 series processor, oled screen with high refresh rate and better cameras. I don’t know how they compete against this kind of competition... I mean this may be the end of Nokia branded phones unless they change their strategies...

The way the mobile industry is shaping in the near future is quite obvious. Majority of smartphone users will choose Samsung, Apple or Xiaomi. All the other companies will either have very small percentages (depending on region too) or they will disappear like LG did.

None of the just-released Nokias deserve attention. I'd rather get offerings from Xiaomi or Samsung. Shame on HMD Global.

Still Nokia do something that people hate.

sq2013, 11 Apr 2021I don't care if the sd480 has 5G. It's antutu sco... morethe vivo y20s which has the sd 480 5g chipset managed to score 200,000 - 230,000 bigger ram and rom aswell which cost all less than 200 bucks, its a no brainer clearly vivo has better alternatives, but note that its not a weak chipset. it has the same gpu aswell as cores like the 765 its more energy efficient since it has 3 TWD compared to 7, all and on all its not particularly bad chipset just somewhere between bad and good

That's how it all ends, when some company buys a brand to use it, but does not really care about the brand. Please, HMD, let the "Nokia" brand die with honor, instead of living in such shame.
