Latest update for the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G promises to fix the touchscreen issues

It's not the first update to make such a claim, but that is the only major claim in the changelog - the other being a new security patch.

Currently pursuing Samsung Australia in my third reply email demanding a refund that I'm legally entitled to. My phone has been at their service centre for 3 weeks now. The touchscreen/ghost touch issues were terrible on my device, severely impairing its operability, and large columns of the touchscreen would randomly stop sensing my fingers. The power button also fell out of the frame after a few months. Had it since the middle of October, with the issues never resolved (but slightly lessened) by the FIVE software updates released so far including modifications to address the "touch screen stability". This does not meet the standards of any consumer, especially for such an expensive phone from a supposedly reputable brand. I've moved on to a Motorola G8.

            Anonymous, 18 Apr 2021Haven't had this issueThat adaptive brightness issue was present on my phone. I haven't even gotten the newest update. its very inconsistent issue where you think the phones sleeping but cant wake up immediately.

              Had it since launch day and I am convinced its hardware related of just a bad lesson in copy and pasting from one phone to the other...even know the screen parts are different.

              At this point we might as well file a class action lawsuit to atleast recoup some money because its obvious Samsung is not able to fix... if this was a car it would be considered a lemon.

              If you don't have the issue , I would say you do but you just do not notice..clumsy fingers kind of excuse...but its actually the phone!

                          If you haven't done today's update (4/12/21) yet, DON'T! I and my family have 4 S20 FE 5G phones and after the update, the display is totally unusable in bright sunlight. If the Adaptive Brightness is turned on, the screen will begin to flicker and then fade out or go black. If you do not go inside immediately, the screen will go black and stay that way for several minutes. If the Adaptive brightness is off, the screen may stay on, but you won't be able to make anything out - it just washes out. A factory reset on one of the phones, suggested by AT&T simply stops the flickering will go away but the other problems remain. Right now one of the 4 phones has been taken to a Samsung authorized repair site for a diagnostic check to see if the phone was damaged by the software update, or if another software update could fix it.

I love so many features about this phone and two days ago it started flickering and then goes black but only when I'm outside or the brightness changes in the room quick. This phone was a gift and I really want to keep it, is there any talk about fixing this issue?

                                  Have had absolutely no issues with the touch screen since I got my phone about 6 weeks ago. Last night it automatically started doing updates and this morning my screen started flickering and then goes black. It comes back on after a few moments and then will do it again...any one else have this issue

Realme, on the other hand, has started improving build quality and I have not heard recent models (ex Realme 7, Realme 8, Narzo 20) having problems.

                                        Too late. I sold mine (128GB version) at a loss. Even past Android 11 Samsung failed to fix the issues. Switched to an 2nd hand iPhone 12 Pro Max bought from FB Marketplace soon after.

                                        An expensive lesson: there’s a price to pay for quality. This is why I now avoid Xiaomi phones (I don’t hate all Chinese brands, mind). Cheap price, good specs, but dissapointing quality control. There was an altercration after a customer received a defective Mi 11 with a black spot on the display (there is such post in FB).
