That's very good news, less chipsets is less defragmentation and Qualcomm will get more focus from devs. screw Exynos too plz.

TI left the true mobile SoC business years ago.

Just as the OMAP was not a true mobile SoC (no modem), neither are the Exynos or crApp£€ "A" that are mentioned in the article.

Sod Qualcomm -- ST-Ericsson will come to save the day with true SoCs, and it's tiime their solutions were better adopted in the market.

the sooner the better. a company which already lost its competetiviness should quit. I don't see the future for TI. Apple? Samsung? HTC? none of these three use TI. It's a wise decision.

Think you'll find apple dont develop chips. The A6 is a SAMSUNG chip not an Apple one!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why Gsmarena didn't write which phones run on Texas Instruments Chipset. Example the Optimus L9 has Texas Instruments, and they didn't say it. Why?

OMAP Processors were higher performing SoC's than their equivalent Qualcomm competition. I for one will be sad not to see OMAP 5 powered phone...
