Same applies to galaxy S6/s7, pixel 1, iphone 6s/7, moto z force.

None of them turn people world into wax like OP8 Pro/Find X2 Pro/X50 Pro.

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2021does sony have night mode The only Sony phone to have a dedicated Night Mode is Xperia 10 II so far. 10 III has a high possibility of getting the feature again, but we'll have to see for the duo flagships (1 III & 5 III).

Definitely the flagship of the year when compared to S21: 4k screen, sd card, 3.5mm jack, side mounted fingerprint is less show but makes more sense than under screen and is faster and more reliable. Camera might be little less, but don't be fooled by MP comparison, because more than anything that is a marketing gimmick.

i0S.-.Never.-.Again, 14 Apr 2021No way man 60-70% drop in price isn't true for Samsung... moreI meant 60-70% of its original price, not a 60-70% drop. Don't know about India, but in Europe, you could get an S20 for 490 Euro right now from a brick and mortar store. Granted, it's a pretty rare sale and also the Exynos, but I haven't seen an Xperia phone go down like this.

And as for the selling more flagships, I imagine it comes down to people wanting to save $100 rather than have a quality device that lasts longer. And what flagships did Oppo or Oneplus have over the Xperia 1ii? The 8T or the Find X2??? Both of those fall behind spec wise for what I look for in a phone.
Not to mention brand names as an influence but it actually is.

The phone lays on the desk as it is, why not have it lay on a charging pad? Instead of it slowly draining in standby, it's actually charging. How are you not getting this? There's also less wear and tear on the phone's charging port as well.

[deleted post]I'm just saying...because they use the same hardware (possibly but I don't see why Sony wouldn't use LTPO for the price tag it's more than likely getting). Like I said, I'm pretty much out of options at this point in the US so I'll more than likely still get it but I'm afraid for that battery...

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2021They should have chosen a higher megapixel count for the pe... moreI want to add that a high angular resolution is likely the most exciting smartphone camera feature nowadays. I prefer a low quality 240mm equivalent camera over a high quality 100mm equivalent camera, if this leads to better image quality at 300mm, 500mm, etc.. For birds you often need 1000mm.

By the way, the effective sensor area decreases with digital zoom. So at 240mm the effective sensor area of the Xperia 1 III is much smaller (approximately 3.6mm² sensor area) than the effective sensor area of the S21 Ultra (14.9mm²) at 240mm.

Let the battle between extreme fanboys and extreme haters begins!

                      Maybe 25%-30%.

I bought the OnePlus 8 pro last year at Rs60k for the 12gb/256gb variant.
A year later, it's price hasn't dropped despite the OnePlus 9 Pro being launched for Rs.10k more.

[deleted post]But they aren't garbage which is why they are selling while Sony is not.
Sony brand lovers are trapped in its glory which was a decade back.

Bottom line is that people trust Oppo and OnePlus these days over Sony.
Not much you can do to change that.

Well, this is it, from the specs that have a lot of big jumps of changes in just years, 1 (Mark) III will be mostly my definite choice for my next smartphone after holding to the XZ Premium for almost 2 years, one of Sony's most beloved phone in the community. 1 III's screaming my old Z5 spirit and DNA is my definite choice, and no, I only intended to purchase a phone 1-2 years after it was launch and 2 years between (exception from XZ to XZ Premium), so the wait in early Summer launch for trio Xperias aren't worrying me at all. In my XZ Premium case though, 2.5 years after it was launched.

As to the camera screen, I did not say otherwise but yet again it would be a bigger surprise if Sony had discontinued the feature rather than keeping it, so my guess is that is why it isn't mentioned in the article.

I don't like the incremental updates they're doing. They need to change the design (it's been 2 years now) and only change version when they add a big feature.
