"Kuo predicts that the iPhone 13 will retain the 12MP resolution, but bring pixel size to 2.0μm thanks to a slight increase in sensor size."
If that's really the case, then the iPhone 13 Pro Max camera could be a noticeable improvement. Kuo already said that the 13 Pro Max will have an f-number of 1.5.
So this would lead to 57% more light per time than the 12 Pro Max. Though, the depth of field would be smaller, if the field of view is the same.

HoldEm, 14 Apr 2021What you're saying Apple should just stay at 12MP. Ex... moreSo there's a misconception about this too, first of all, iOS is better optimized when it comes to RAM usage, that's why iPhones can run the same or even better with 4GB of ram than most Androids with 8GB or more, before starting an argument on this matter, if you're willing to, please read about the software differences regarding this.

Now, regarding what the guy that you replied to tried to say is that higher pixel count does not impact image quality, for now at least while we won't be using photos from our phones to print images for billboards or put them as wallpapers on 4k+ displays because that's when higher pixel count will have an importance which will translate into image sharpness but for now, all that higher resolution photos will do is occupy more storage on your device and that's it. Currently what we should pay attention at is the sensor size and the software responsible for processing the data, bigger sensor size will let it capture more light which will bring in more details.

The Mini is too big, and they have the SE2; they have a too undesktop restrictive OS user settings functionality; not desktop like mode and software, even lagging Android; no memory card or external drive hook up to store and backup data; direct printing from Port; it costs too much; it looks plain vanilla; it doesn't have enough features; it's not rugged enough; and offers little to no significant apparent physical innovation, over what other companies could do. Each a reason for somebody else not to buy. Guess how long that is going last, and guess how long the App store and itunes profits are going to last at high enough rate? The phone/tablet eco system should have a desktop mode compatable with MacOS, and desktop software, and all the features mentioned above. Effectively it becomes an iMac nano if activated and put in a dock or lead attached. You can get many features from other manufactures for less, even truely mini android phones for less than $100 which looks like a Motorola edge.

Time for somebody to create an alternative eco system that does these things, with complete privacy and no need to get on line. It could be called 'Respect' (for owners).

You know Apple is doing better and better all the time? :) and no iPhone will not die eventually, i know you guys want that, but sorry to tell it to you, iPhone will only get more popular, why? Because it’s something no-one else can sell, it’s unique experience.

                                ”If their incredibly loyal fans
didn't exist they would've been gone already”

Why you think it exist? Because Apple does so so great products over and over again which people want to buy over and over again. And like i said they have unique products to sell, sametime everyone else are selling more or less the same and trying to stay relevant and like LG already show, it’s really really difficult :)

Apple will just keep making small changes until their iphones die eventually. If their incredibly loyal fans
didn't exist they would've been gone already

Android phones in 2022 are probably gonna possess the under display selfie and their phones will look futuristic. 48MP? Samsung is working on a 300MP camera and Xiaomi will probably do something insane too
