Sony next to die after LG. Nothing to justify that absurd pricing.

Every reviewer mentioned that.
S21 Ultra when launched was also terrible in image, especially video on Exynos version, that seems to be fixed now

Anonymous, 15 Apr 20211300$ for 1/1.7" main sensor?? Is this some kind of jo... moreHave you seen the actual images off Mi11 Ultra or even better video? Does that look like a quality that's worth of such big sensor? Absolutely not. Video is even worse.
Outdoor images on bright sunny daylight are great but so are any outdoor images off any flagship from 2019 such as S10. But Mi11 Ultra falls apart in specific situations such as shooting people indoors when there is a bright windows behind them as HDR tries to hard to show you what's behind the window that it underexposes the subject you are shooting. It's stuff like this that shows Xiaomi is still in amateur hour compared to Apple or Samsung. This has nothing to do with sensor it has everything to do with post processing game they want to play.
Switching between cameras on Mi11 Ultra also aggressively shifts color reproduction as ultrawide and periscope can't match the main sensor neutral color and contrast balance. Telephoto lens has weird in-between FOV of 120mm which is not good for neither portraits nor 45 degree shots. Albeit it's better than S21 Ultra which has absolutely useless 240mm FOV.
So what Xiaomi is selling you is novelty of the biggest and the baddest on paper but in hand it's really just an OK or should I say not bad outcome but definitely not ultra good.

potato4k, 15 Apr 2021Launching in July? LOL. Same old Sony. If you keep making t... moreWho will be watching for new phones in September? Maybe iPhone people cause no new Android flagships are being announced in September. Summer is the latest slot if you want to sell the flagship and both Sony and Huawei are stuck with summer because of chip allocation.
Also tell me when Xiaomi announces those phones when do we ever get global release date? We only get China and/or India release dates together with something vague as when it will be available in the rest of the world. Sony did the same here they said early summer cause the phone will launch in China in May 20th then in Japan in June 20th and then the rest of the world will get it in July while US gets in August.

But 3.5mm jacks and type-c dongles are universal. They are meant to be working across all kinds of devices. If they don't, then that means its manufacturer has something shady going on.

All of you guys get a grip and read GSMArena's last sentence:
"The RUSSIAN site targets July but WE CANNOT CONFIRM THE RELEASE DATE".
Think of July as a placeholder. They have to put something in there. Sony mentioned early summer so that's from Mid May to mid June. Of course, that's still market-dependent but that's the thought process.
As for the price, I called it and at least the one mark iii isn't that bad if you pre-order with those headphones (sell them if you don't want them). The 5 mark iii... that's a tough pill to swallow despite being a decent upgrade from the mark ii. If only Sony had a good trade-in program...

They'll rather make less profits per device than cheat their customers with cheap quality hardware.
People have understood this over the years which is why they had the most growth in shipments last year despite the pandemic.
