If one is paying above 1000$, paying for a good quality type C to 3.5mm jack converter isn't a big deal.

I would nerve pay more than 600€ for a phone. It's a phone not a 55"-65 OLED TV or a High end PC/Laptop. -_-

The problem is not the pricing itself (at least not for the 1iii model). I mean nowadays top models for each manufacturer cost easily above 1000EUR.
The bigger problem is how fast those phones will come to their possible owners.
Another problem for Sony is too few models. I am not a fan of the weekly releasing of new models type of business, but I am thinking that a Sony fan who wants a good Sony phone is obliged to buy a 1000+EUR one. No options in 500-800EUR range. Maybe Sony should have cut more corners from the 5iii model and made it a little cheaper. That is certainly not mid-range price (not even in Apple standards).

Launching in July? LOL. Same old Sony. If you keep making the same mistakes over and over again, don't blame anyone else if you're out if business soon.
There's Samsung event this month, and by summer, everyone will be waiting for new iphones in September. Meanwhile, xiaomi has been shipping multitude of phones from Poco x3 pro, Poco D3, mi 11 series, and redmi note 10 series.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that price tag considering that different country imposes different import tax. So while the 1 Mk3 may cost $1,300 in Russia, it could be less expensive in other countries.
