Specs nd features wise Comparing with other competitors
Pricing is OK for japenese tech giant.
But here RELEASE is the major problem here.

Maybe with using the new SD480 5G SoC (also FHD+ (LCD or Amoled), 6GB ram, 128GB storage, Android 11& 2 years of Android updates or more instead of just one year) for around 250euro would be a very good device and an instant buy...
The last years Sony Xperia L4 was a bad device and very difficult to choose (P22 SoC, 3GB Ram, 720p LCD, 64GB storage, Android 9 in2020! & a single Android update) for around 200-250 Euro. At 100-120 Euro, it would be acceptable.

According to prices it doesn't look like this. At least not for the 5iii model.
Let's wait for the 10iii price too, but I am guessing it will be 400-500EUR. Not so budget friendly (at least for Android market).

LG tried to target in the same market as Samsung and other brands, but Sony targeted the "professional-ish" market and a niche one since xperia 1. Also the pricing on LG's phonese were also a bit disastrous. LG dropped their flagship's price like 2 or 3 months after their were released (by quite a lot), Sony on the other hand, doesn't drop their price until their new model is released. (I'm talking about a brand new price, not second hand price)

With how the market is moving, in short time we will consider entry level price, phones at 500EUR. At least some people will not laugh only about Apple high prices.

And for midrange we have this Xperia 10 III.

1 xperia 1 ii was released with 1200usd price...
2 it comes with and xm3...
3 i bought 1 ii almost at 1200usd without bundles...
4 i still love my 1 ii... and xz2 compact and z5 premium and z3 and z1 compact and miro...
but with the upgrades? i am considering one,, besides, you cant see such phones everyday, hard to miss what is sony making here... just thankful that they did not put a quad dac... because that would really hurt me so bad as a buyer of 1ii... ha... ha... but that 360 audio on stereospeaker is just overwhelming... 4k display that supports 120hz is just wow... but still not my cup of tea...
