Some cars which you'd expect to be faster and better are not for "scientific" reasons - eg Honda Prelude 2.3 was no match for the 2.2, the Gold Mk4 GTi 2.0 was no match for the 1.8. The Prelude 2.3 was a cruiser rather than a sporty engine and the Golf 2.0 was heavier. In terms of the One X and One S, the S had a smaller display, so it would feel quicker to use in certain circumstances and might benchmark higher. I heard the One S benchmarked higher than the iPhone 5, for example.

I noticed this in the O2. Magazine, Yesterday.
It's almost like The HTC. One Series are not particularly kind to the People who buy Them.
For example: The one S had better Performance than the One X, even though the One X was supposed to be *The* One Series Phone to buy.
-Then less than 6 Months after the One X. was released, The One X+ turns up.
I doubt that the One X+ Will have LTE. Support, so in 6 Months time, They can release another Handset with LTE. to further boost their Sales.
LG. Tried that on with the Optimus 2X. delaying the release of the Optimus 3D... That was why I got an HTC. EVO. 3D...
Thinking that I could trust their Policies...

The architecture is a big part too. That's why the dual-core Cortex-A15 Snapdragon in the HTC One S outperforms the quad-core Cortex-A9 Tegra 3 in the HTC One X in every benchmark. It also beats the Galaxy S III in 3 of the 6 benchmarks. Also, the HTC One X+ isn't new. I've seen it in the AnTuTu results comparison bar chart...

However you do not need such powerful processors for mobile phones.

1.7 gb quadcore processor....WOW
HTC in my opinion have the best UI out of all the top smartphone, but these specs will make this phone the most powerful phone! didnt see this coming. i am gona have to buy it

There is no way the iPhone 4S was a "new" phone in the same way that an S3 is new; the 4S was an upgraded iPhone 4, the S3 is very different from an S2. The 4S has the same dimensions, similar spec, same operating system, nothing to differentiate it externally. The iPhone 5 has become very thin and very light when everyone else is making phones heavier and wider to accommodate all the extra tech. Apple release a product with a different name, I guess I just don't see what's so "new" or "innovative". You can't be innovative when you're so conservative.
