Frankly, I don't give a f**k who and how does anyone makes cell phones, has patents or markets any goods. I only care that I have the best services and quality reliable products. If Huawei goes down, Xiaomi will take it's place or just any other asian tech company , just like Huawei did back in the day.
Keep calm , think straight, and only purchase what you consider best for you.
In the end all cell phones have the same internals more or less..

Some of this companies/applications were blocked as early as 2009.
They were blocked by the so called "Great Firewall" of internet censorship from China.

Q, 21 Apr 2021It's not about patent quiantity, it's about paten... moreGreat freedom loving Nokia monetized thir GSM (Symbian and many other things) patent portfolio, abused it along with It's market position, overcharged for it while horrible, horrible Huawei whose giving them for free. Well not no any more, now Huawei charges for those and still significantly less. If you have some charges about patent infringement I advise to go to court, I am certain Huawei will.

Chinese companies love to copy/paste western technologies, they always did. Nokia and Ericcson both spending money on R&D , that's a clear and logical way to win a competition. Innovation always was in Nokia's blood.

T... moreSure they will especially for essential ones regarding 5G in the meantime all around for essential and not essential ones everyone will choose to pay to Huawei than Ericsson or Nokia as asked price is much lower. Seams you have been asleep for a long time and have some catching up to do in order to get your story right. Of course they don't have to pay, that's called patent infringement.

Together with erricson they already have more active/used patents then huaway, well they actually have more patents overall. You probably read some article of the past that was not put right. Minding the fact that Nokia developed the GSM network, i doubt they will ever pay for networking patents to anyone no matter what technology.
